  • I'm stuck...UGH!

Ok...i've now been at 194 for almost 2 weeks. UGH. I cant stand it. I have increased my walking/running to a little over 2 miles and now have hand weights that I use while i'm walking/running too. I just hope I have a little bit of loss this week. I'm getting discouraged....i guess i'm just impatient.

My mom did buy me a dress this weekend a size 16 fitted dress. I would of never been able to wear that 3 months ago!

Are you measuring? You may not be losing because you are gaining weight. An official stall is 4 weeks of no loss of inches or pounds. I too became frustrated of 2 weeks with no losses then the 3rd week I measured and weighed in a pound down and several inches off. Try to stick it out and you will see rewards. Could TOM be lurking? TOM seems to throw me off for about 2-3 weeks per month. Als increasing you exercise is awesome but be aware that you may be retaining water until your body gets used to the exercise.

Or building some of that great lean muscle mass which will burn more calories! If you're eating off the acceptable food list, drinking your water and exercising everything's gonna be fine. Patience, grasshopper!

Two weeks is not a plateau or stall. A weight loss plateau is defined as 4 weeks without loss of pounds or inches. So make sure you measure yourself.

I just know I’m going to get scorned for this but this works wonderfully for me. Please know that I do not condone or disregard unhealthy eating habits. It is important to eat a well balanced diet full of healthy greens, meats and some fruits.

When I started Atkins I lost 14 pounds in the first 3 weeks. After that I stalled for 2 ½ MONTHS *ahhhhh*. I became desperate and decided I would follow the Atkins fat fast. Please note that Dr Atkins warns against the misuse of this method. It turns out after two weeks I lost another 11 pounds. But the third week I only lost 1 pound after. So I decided to go back to eating the regular induction style diet. I again stalled for another 5 weeks however I didn’t gain any pounds back. I decided to try the fat fast for another 2 weeks again. Low and behold I lost another 7 pounds. huh?????? This is what I think is happening…. When stalling on Atkins, the body is still losing fat but the fat stores are being replaced by water molecules making it look like there is no loss. Every once in a while when I do the fat fast it forces my body to flush this water. (I do know that I pee and sweat a lot during a fat fast). I also know that shocking your body or changing a regular thing will force your body to respond. So now I go a month or two eating regular low carb, high protein, then fat fast for two weeks, then go back to regular low carb eating again. It works for me but recognize that I’m not telling you to do this…..

Don't hate me guys..... :nono I know this may be a bad idea or habit but when I consider how I use to eat eg, oreo cookies, twinkies, deep fried everything, coke, big macs & fries, no fruit, no veggies, tons of SUGAR...., I think I'm much better off with this habit.
