  • HELP Me Please...I'm feeling destructive!!!

I have been feeling VERY distuctive all day. My husband and I got into a HUGE fight and I had a very hard day with the baby. I know I don't want to ruin my efforts..today marks 1 week one the diet and all cheat free, but I don't care! What's wrong with me, I want this more than anything! The first day I lost 3 lbs, then 4 the next and nothing since..so i'm not feeling very motivated. Please help me, I don't want to go off the deep end.
*Dieting makes you look good with your clothes on...exercise make you look good with them off.*

:hug Hey don't do that!!! Honey you're going through changes :sympathy biologically with this new Way Of Eating. I know how you must feel with the big argument with the Hubby, the baby acting up and things just don't seem right!!!! I know, I know you wanna just Screammmmmm
    !!!!!!
But, girl let me tell you, it ain't you, its normal to feel the way you do, and I am very proud of you for coming here first to vent your frustration before jumping into old behavior. That says a lot about your character to me. :clapping Congrats on the weight loss, being cheat free!!! Don't go there with giving up, its only been a week, and you're doing GREAT!!!!! Like my Grandmother told me, whenever the devil (pardon the pun, not your hubby or baby ) is messing with you, watch out you have a blessing coming from around the corner. Hang in there girl, without the rain we can't have rainbows. :hug

      First...read this.

Secondly....either accept that weight comes off in fits and spurts (and sometimes jumps on for a day or two) and live with that....OR weigh yourself only once a week.

Thirdly...think about what destructive behaviour will accomplish.
      Will it make you happy?
Will it teach you or your husband a lesson?
Will it contribute to your weight loss success?

and lastly....I'm thinking that if you just started a few days ago, you are probably knee deep in Induction Flu, and going through withdrawals from sugars, starches, etc, and you would probably feel like the dog's breakfast even if you were a happy-go-lucky single lady with no responsibilities!
Induction Flu is yukky and icky, and it made me question Atkins, and myself, and life in general! I was cranky, headachy and very very snappy to my poor bf. By day 8, I was feeling like I had come through the wall of fire.

Just keep telling yourself that this will pass...the physical symptoms of withdrawal will go away, and you'll be feeling better very soon :yes

And also remember that Induction can also be a time of mourning, when we realize that we can't turn to food treats as comfort anymore. Well, we can, but a boiled egg sure doesn't feel as comfy as a cookie, does it?
It's all part of the learning process, and while at times it's not much fun, it's all going to add up to wonderful things for you...so hang in there...keep the BIG PICTURE in mind, guzzle some water, and give yourself a big pat on the back for coming to this forum rather than going to the fridge!

our brains are very very good at storing all kinds of info alike what foods after you eat them have in the passed made you feel better and your Dr Brain is working very hard now prescribing to the best of its limited knowledge what will fix you right up. You need to resist those false Rxs and teach your doctor brain new responsed to stress anger worry sadness or whatever emotion you happen to be feeling cause Dr Brain is a very very good pusher.
Many many foods temporarily minic brain chemicals that alter your mood and your brain knows which foods effect you. Teach it to use exercise for dealing with anger and stress as that uses up those hormones those emotions produce along with generating some cool neurotransmitters and burning off cals.

it will tak time and determination on your part to overcome those yrs of training your brain hads had, but it can be done. this is where that saying about exercising your willpower makes it stronger. It is actually weakening all the neural synapes to the hhigh carb cure every time you find something else to do. Some folk use distraction like drinking water some meditate. Just find what works for you cause you deserve to be healthy and smaller not angry stressed and bigger cause you used food to deal with your emotions.

        Happy low carbing.

read a book or something to take your mind away from what's egging you. stay focused on your goals, remind yourself that you can be strong and not let junk or stress control how you live your life. try to fill up on legal liquid...eat something and rewrite your goals down and remind yourself how hard you're trying.

            best wishes.

Thanks you all so much. You have truly helped me. I got through this, so I know I can get through anything! I printed out your words of encouragement and put them on the fridge, just in case. Thank you all so much for caring about me! :hug
