  • Where is your scale?

    Hi Everyone,

Just read this article, thought I would pass it on:

    Weigh Less In Seconds
If your scale is on carpet, it could Overreport you weight by as much as 10%. The deeper the pile, the more you weigh. For an accurate read, put it on a hard surface.

    Interesting huh?

Yep, absolutely right! I think I mentioned it in another post - I get a different readings in different parts of the house, but it varies more on non-firm surfaces like a linoleum kitchen floor or carpet. Our bathroom floor tilts slightly towards the wall and door, so I find the best place to use it is in the middle of the bathroom floor where it is a completely flat. Just tilting, or even leaning on one foot too much is enough to make the readings inaccurate.

I have heard and read that the bathroom is a really bad place for a scale especially digital cause the water gets into the electonics and screws it up really bad so I keeep mine out of the bathroom and in the dining room where I have hardwood. Just thought I would let you all know the steam from the batroom is really bad for a scale like putting your un waterproof watch in the sink doesn't work so good LOL.
