DANDR says to use 1 tablespoon on Flax per day to avoid constipation. But is there any problem with using too much of it. The book says it is effectively zero net carbs as it is purely fibre, but could there be a problem with, say, using 4 or 5 tablespoons per day.

You might have problems if you went from no flax to 4-5 tablespoons overnight :yikes
So start with one T and if that has no effect on your 'regularity' add another T. By increasing it gradually (and having plenty of extra water) you should arrive at an optimum amount for you.
But if you are on induction your flax is JUST to sort out 'bathroom' problems, so only add enough to sort this out. BTW there is no need to 'go' every day. Your body will use most of the food you are eating and there will not be as much waste for it to get rid of as if you were eating lots of carbs.
On the nuts/seeds rung you could add more in the form of breads etc.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
