Is wine acceptable? I occasionally like a glass.....
I didn't see any nutrition label and I know some types of wine have no sugar added. What's your input?

Wine is not acceptable during induction. It is added in rung 5 of OWL. Wine is pretty high in carbs but red wine does have some nutritional value. Hang in there for rung 5 and you will get your wine.

DANDR says even though some alcohols like wine have little or no carbs, it isn't advised that we drink it till the Alcohol Rung in OWL because:

      - the body prefers to burn alcohol before everything else
      - it hinders fat burning / ketosis
      - some alcohols have hidden carbs & sugars which aren't necessarily mentioned in the labels
      - after all wine is made from grapes, that that's basically a fruit right? Even though it's fermented, you can't get rid of all the fruit sugars that was originally there... sugar in, sugar out - it can't just disappear just because it turns into an alcohol?
