    Hi All,

    A co-worker of mine just started two weeks ago and she told me that if you eat under 20 carbs a day that helps loose weight faster. What do you think?

    That is induction or extended induction. I vary from 15 - 20 a day. Sometimes even as much as 24 and i've been loosing pretty steady.

      According to Dr Atkins weight loss on his plan is about the ratio of carbs to fats and induction is a rapid weight loss phase with limited food choices. Owl is a slightly loser weight loss phase with more food choices. Some folk combine the two and here is is called modified OWL where they add the rungs of OWL but keep the daily carbs low like in induction.

      Some folk need more food choicesto stick with the program and not have a carb blow out some folk are disiplined enough to stick with induction if they have a large amount of weight to lose.
      Read chapter 13 of our DANDR and you will see if you should be an OWLer or inducter.
