  • post induction stall

I am in my 5th week and last week I didn't lose. I am not hungry, and I find I am eating a late breakfast and no dinner then early supper. I know this is probably the reason for the stall , but, I 'm wondering if I start today and make sure I eat all of my meals will I notice a change realatively soon? I mean I am eating induction and not cheating, I'm just probably not eating enough or often enough. Am I still in ketosis, bad breath and stinky pees?

You need to eat regularly so you won't go into starvation mode, which means your body tries to conserve energy by storing everything you take in because it thinks it's starving.

Post-induction stalls are a common normal occurrence and it's not really considered a stall unless you haven't lost weight for a month.

      To add

To add to what matawguro said, It's not considered a stall unles you haven't lost pounds or inches in 4 weeks!

You may want to measure yourself--most times you will see more progress there than on the scale :yes

Yep, Matawguro is right - stalling is very common, and I've read in posts it happens to even those who follow Atkins to a tee and don't cheat.

I had a 6-week stall and I fretted, stressed, everything. But suddenly, one day I stopped eating cheese and avocado and discovered it was one of those foods making me stall after all! because since then scales have been inching along slowly.

Try and eat more regular meals, if not that, then eat smaller meals/snacks but more often. What you need is to keep your metabolism going, instead of making it think it's going into "starvation" mode by eating a late breakfast and no dinner. If you have an early dinner and late breakfast, that's like 12 hours or more that your body will go without food and your metabolism also slows overnight. You really want to kickstart it with a good early breakfast.

One more thing... are you losing inches? If you are, that means you are not "plateauing" Scales aren't the most reliable way of telling that you are losing, it's the inches all over that count! :yes

            Hi Cathy :wave
I noticed you have about 18 pounds left to reach goal so wonder if you ought to be moving on to OWL now.
You need to give yourself time to explore the different foods you will be adding back to your WOE as well as discover your CCLL and move to premaintenance to lose your final 5-10 pounds.
Read the stickies on the OWL forum to find out how to start Owling.
Many people have posted that they jumpstarted thier weightloss once they started OWL.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
