  • Sugar Free Protein Drinks

Ok heres the deal.. Im deathly allergic to eggs, The bacon, and sausage, scrapple thing is like NOT working for me anymore. Everything tastes TOOOOOOO salty!!

Has anyone ever drank whey protein shakes for breakfast? I have yummy peach, and was thinking about dropping two strawberries in it and makin a smoothie?

My only other option is to not eat breakfast.... which i think will make me way overeat!!

What about not eating only "breakfast foods" for breakfast? I have leftovers from dinner the night before for breakfast all the time.

yepthink outside the box you can have dinner twice I love leftovers for breakfast.

As for your smoothie you posted in extended induction which means no fruit! You could make some flax meal ceeal. or even flax muffins but you want your breakdast to be high fat not high protein Atkins is a ketogenic program 65% of those cals you have should be fats and it should be balanced throughout the day not lots of protein for breakfast and lots of fat for dinner to make up.

      Happy low carbing.

I have a chocolate whey protein I make a hot cereal with. The cereal is only 164 calories so I usually have something else with it. A lot of times the night before's leftovers if I don;t feel like eggs or something...

1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein powder (I weighed it once, my .5 scoop is also .5 ounces)
2 tablespoons ground flax seed (measure it after grinding)
          1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
          1/2 cup water.

Stir everything together in a microwave safe bowl and nuke for about a minute. Stir, and continue microwaving 30sec to a minute more. It'll start really bubbling and rolling up and get a thick consistency. It's when it gets that thick consistency that it reminds me of malt-o-meal and other hot cereals.

I add a tablespoon of butter to mine when it's done. You can use cream or cream and butter, whatever you prefer. I usually sprinkle a little splenda on top too

Using my tablespoon of butter, my fitday number for the cereal come up to this:

          Calories: 164
          Fat: 63%
          Carbs: 3%
          Protein: 29%

I am like you. I can't stand eggs! A deviled egg once in a while is okay. I was a "sandwich for breakfast" eater before this way of life. Funny because my daughter would rather have a tuna sandwich too rather than a bowl of cereal.

Breakfast for me usually is a small bowl of cottage cheese and a few ham and cheese slices. Or I make my daughter her tuna sandwich and then I eat the remaining tuna right out of the bowl or put in on lettece with swiss cheese and make tuna wraps. I have started going up the rungs of the ladder and added raw almonds. Seems to have kick started my weight loss again.

I have tried to do the Atkins shakes for breakfast. They make me stall.

You shouldn't eat scrapple for breakfast because it's basically cornmeal, which isn't allowed during Induction---at all.

Think outside of the breakfast box. I frequently have leftovers for breakfast: this morning I had leftover shrimp. We had a moderator here whose favorite breakfast was taco salad.

By the way, cottage cheese is NOT an acceptable food for Induction.

I know cottage cheese is not legal for induction. It works for me though and I am still losing. I don't count carbs either, that works for me too. I am a perfectionist. If I counted every single carb/fiber count etc I would give up. :yes

By the way, what is scrapple??

Oh, so you're doing low carb, not Atkins. That's cool. Just try to remember when you're posting in the Atkins-specific parts of ADBB that what you are doing might not be appropriate for what a person on Atkins is doing because you don't want to confuse an Atkineer.

Scrapple is cornmeal porridge with meat and spices added to it. The porridge is then cooled and cut into squares that are fried. It's a popular breakfast food in the Southern states and the Amish/Pennsylvania dutch areas. Basically, it was a way for a farmer to use up leftovers and to extend their meat rations.
