  • coffee relapse

Yesterday morning I drank a cup of coffee, it gave me alot of energy to clean my house but I also felt wired and nervous, hated the feeling, and it did help with my constipation, coffee was the only thing that ever helped. I eat fiber, take citrucel, metamusil, ect... and still coffee was all that would help. all my life i have had this problem
also I am so burned out on veggies now i know it s why my energy is down but if I force myself to eat them I feel like im gonna barf now, any suggestions? also will coffee slow my weightloss? if i drink a cup every other day?

Are you eating lots of fat (we strive for 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs on induction)? Are you eating enough calories? Maybe post a typical day's menu so we can take a look. In terms of the coffee question, I suppose you'll have to make that decision.

What kind of veggies have you been eating? You can't be sick of every veggie on the whole list! The fiber in the veggies is what you need to keep regular! Plus your body needs the nutrients!

Why not drink decaf coffee if it helps w/ your bowels, do you think its the caffeine that does that? or coffee in general?

well I had been eating salads mostly, thats where I got alot of my fat content (dressing) also I have overdosed om mushrooms cooked with my meat. I need to find out if decaf will have the same effect on my bowels? if so that would be very helpful. also I probably need to add more fats like butter maybe that will help with cooked veggies

The reason why coffe helps with the bowels is caffiene is a diruetic. Decaff doesn't have the same effect :no I miss my coffee for that reason mostly. I have been taking citrucel caplets recently and they are not working at the dosage I am taking them so I am going to start upping it to see if I can get them to work.

Ah, sounds like you need to check that list again and try some new veggies! There's all kinds of yummy ones on the list and endless ways of preparing them so you don't get bored!

Try slicing some zuccini, dipping in egg then in parmesean cheese and frying them until crispy, to eat - just dip into some ranch or blue cheese dressing, you'll get your fats and zuccini is really yummy this way, as is yellow squash and mushrooms as well (except you seem to be sick of mushrooms)

How about trying spaghetti squash, topped with butter, garlic and parmesean cheese.

How about spinach, if you heat it up w/ some cream cheese and some onion powder and mix it well it tastes just like creamed spinach, quick and yummy.

Asparagus w/ hollandaise sauce. there is a great hollandaise sauce recipe in the cooking forum that Nurselady just posted the other day.

Green beans steamed w/ chopped up bacon and topped w/ butter.

Brussel sprouts w/ vinegar and butter.

Bake a small tomato, before baking top with italian seasoning and freshly grated parmesean.

Stuff a green bell pepper w/ seasoned ground beef and bake.

Sautee some chopped up cabbage with anything you'd like, maybe some bacon for xtra flavor.

Steamed broccoli or cauliflower with melted cheddar on top.

Use eggplant in place of the noodles and make "lasagna".

Fry some kale and sprinkle with Old Bay or seasoned salt!

            Steamed snow peas with butter.

I could go on for days! There are literally endless possiblities!

Sorry to hear that its the caffeine that does it in the coffee. :sadblinky

Fried zucchini like that is really awesome. I put about half 'pork rind crumbs' and half grated parmesan cheese for the 'breading'. Eggplant is great that way too, same with mushrooms.
