  • Help!! I am so discouraged!

I am so glad I found this bulletin board. I am so frustrated right now. I lost a lot of weight in the first week, but for the last two weeks I have not lost any weight. I am doing everything perfectly including hiking everyday. I feel so stuck and I thought I would loose more weight in the beggining. I still have to loose 40 lbs. I am going to continue induction until I get closer to my goal weight. Can anyone think of why I might be stuck? I eat correctly, my vitamins are correct, I exercise everyday, I drink so much water I could practically drown, no caffiene or alcohol. Also, does anyone know approx. how many pounds a week people loose on induction after the first fourteen days?
    Thanks you,
    Shanna

patience grasshopper if y9u are following incution rules from Chapter 11 of DR ATKINS' NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 then you are not doing anything wrong. It is very noraml to have a large loss the first week and then not see any sclae weight loss for a few weeks I call this the post insuctiuon hesitation period as that is all it is a slight hesitation. Check your tape measure and you should see inches of fat melting of as you work your program and add lean body mass. Scales will only tell you the total mass change effected by gravity. you can be sheding lots of fat and retaining fluids while you are creating new muscle mas ans the scale can actually show you gaining weight.

If you are only eating enough food to satisfy your hunger from those induction foods lists, drinking all your water doing the mandatory daily exercise both resistance and aerobic, and taking the supplements you need they you will be a healthier smaller person with time.

    Happy low carbing.

You are experiencing what has become known as PISS (post-induction stall syndrome) which is entirely normal. Be patient and persistent. You will prevail!!! Just don't ever give up or give in!!!

Thank you for the info. I am not going to quit either. For the first time in my life I am not craving foods and actually have control!!! Having that control is worth the stall!!
          Thanks,
