I'm afraid, now that I'm in the pre-maintaince and soon going to be in the life maintaince, that I will gain some of my weight back. I can currently have 35 carbs a day, and my calorie intake is around 2000. Is this ok?

Re: Will I Gain?
Why not keep an eye on the scale, and if you notice that you are gaining, cut back a little?Originally posted by lendekI'm afraid, now that I'm in the pre-maintaince and soon going to be in the life maintaince, that I will gain some of my weight back. It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

My lowest recorded weight (since starting Atkins) was 197 for like 2 days. Since then it's varied between 201 and 204.
You may gain the weight back slowly but remember to keep up the exercise and stay away from hi-carb food.
I'm going to add another day of cardio into my workout routine and try to get my weight back to 200.
Also remember that it's more important to watch inches than weight because that's what people see. As long as my new size 36 pants fit I'm not going to sweat it too much ('cept at the gym :yes )

I have not gained
nore am I loosing anymore ....but I feel really really good eating this way ...for a couple of days I thought about going back to Induction but remembering how that felt I just figured I would boost my working out some more .and see what happens...but no I have not gained weight..thank goodness!...I do continue to use fitday and try to keep the carbs at 45 and the calories under 1500-1800 (I know calories are not counted per se but it helps me look at the big pic)...the one nice thing is you can get all your nutrients at this level and this reduced the need for me to take a supplement (I get an upset stomach from multi vits) but I still take the omega's everyone should!

motivation
working out is great if you start! it is so hard when the weather is lousy or you have any other excuse on the entire planet! there is the one thing about the 10,000 extra steps a day and that is fine on work days I am not at a desk all day!....working 8 hours at a desk is incredibly fatiguing!!!!! when you get done getting up and going to work out is so hard!!!! and the morning just does not have enough hours in it....I did read an article published by my work about how if you do have a desk job standing is much less fatiguing than sitting ...who knows not many of us can ask for a standing work station....

I know I need to work out more also, but one good thing about this year at school is the fact that I am at the end of a very long hallway and I make many trips up and down the hall during the day. Also have maintained my goal weight for almost a year (mid Oct.)

become a master at going the long way everywhere you walk. Put up the laundry on piece at a time. use the rest room furthest from your desk. walk all the aisles before you oput anything in your cart and skip aisle so you have to come back when you do put stuff in the cart. Use you imagination You can find a real "goal" mine of energy wasters (for use that is calorie burners) if you look around you.
Don't use a chair while you type on the computer either stand do squats or get a fitness ball and workout.

There is a new exercise challenge starting 9/12. Get a smiley face for every day that you workout. I just signed up and I have not done a challenge for months. I committed to many days the last time I did a challenge and I got burned out and did not do regular exercise for the whole summer. Of course you do all that summer fun stuff that is exercise without really thinking about it but it will not be long until summer is over. Come join me at the exercise challenge. I have committed to 3 days a week. Now that can't burn me out :icondance
