  • to those of you who have reached goal

    im going back home (vancouver) for good early next year, and by then i will have reached goal. im going back to school for a bit, and was wondering if by then, id still have to consume the same amount of water as i am now. (6 liters minimum)

    the max i can hold before i need to go to the bathroom is 40mins! which is fine now, but im worried when i go back to school, ill have to leave the class every 40mins.

    Hi Yuri,
    I find that if I cut back on water I tend to gain a bit of water weight. I completely understand the having to go go go syndrome. I tend to change the time I drink my water if I know I wont be able to get to a bathroom. Can you maybe drink more in the evening when you are near a bathroom?

      I've been able to cut back on my water by about a third. But I still drink about a gallon per day. I know what you mean about class; I'm in school too. You might try cutting back a bit on your water before class, going just before class whether or not you think you need to, and see how things work out. How long are your classes going to be? A lot are only 45 min anyway, so maybe you'll be able to last that long. And with longer classes, a lot of times there'll be a break half way through.

        actually your body will begin to adapt to the higher fluid intake and you will need to go to the bathroom less frequently. :nod
        moving back home for school will be good for your weight loss if you take advantage of the gym your scholl has. take a PE class or two so you have to do your exercise part of the program.

          thanks everyone. well im taking a bus admin course which starts everyday from 8:30am till 3:15pm, with 1 lunch break! it doesnt mention any small breaks inbetween. :sadblinky

          2big, ive been on this woe since march, and m body hasnt adjusted, or gotten used to the fluid intake... still going every 40mins!

          i suppose i could drink most of my water after school!

            yuri-
            You are drinking 6 liters of water a day? That is like 24 glasses of water if I figure correctly. That just amazes me how people can do that, although I've seen you are not the only one! I never drink more than 8-10 a day unless I'm outside all day in really hot weather! If you are considering cutting back, I'd think you'd have to go slowly with it to give your body time to adjust. Best wishes with your move and going back to school.

              yes! thats minimum per day... i drink a bit more than that on most days. at first it was a struggle, but now it feels so normal, and going to the bathroom every 40mins has become normal too!

              thanks for the advice, i dont think i need to be drinking the same amount forever..... :confused

                Drinking less water won't kill you.
                I've tried to drink a lot arty but I never seem to get more that 100oz in a day...even on days i work out. :no

                I know I should drink more but it's hard sometimes.

                  Wow Yuri,thats alot of water :yikes I to like my water but so close to goal i'd say you'd be fine even cutting down to 3 litres and welcome back to Canada :hug

                    I just proportioned when i drink water. During the summer's i was a fiend and averaged over 100oz a day.

                    Once school started, i know i couldnt handle it during the day, so i just drank the bulk of my water when i got home. You know you'll have 5 hours free time...i'm guessing...so that's only a 20oz bottle every hour. :nod

                      I really don't think you "need" any more than MAYBE 3-4 liters.... which is about a gallon. You're currently drinking almost double your body weight, which is way more than anyone "needs."

                      I'd cut back a little and see if you can last longer without peeing.
