  • Surgery and this WOE what is your experience?

    Hi all,

Having just a had a relatively minor surgical procedure and having a tough time with my inability to exercise (none for 3 weeks, than only light aerobic on lower body. No weight or upper body until 6-8 weeks) I was wondering if any of you had a similar experience, and how you adjusted your diet and concerns about losing ground during your recovery period.
I am keeping my fat around 65-68%, carbs under 20 dly, calories down to 1100 or so.

    Thank You in advance!!
    Kristen

    :hug glad it went well.

your body needs to be healing right now so make sure you are giving it enough protein for repairs. I had to cut back my cals when I was ordered not to do anything with my leg for the month after my minor knee surgery on each one and it was getting to me. i concentrated on upper body stuff but you said you can't do any. Did you ask your doc about isometics?

The less you exercise the lower your CCLL will go so make sure you are on top of your carb counts and be ready to cut it back some if you see the inches or scal moving upward.

I used treadmilling as a cure for cravings so i really had a problem with that part of my Atkins and ened up losing my cheatfree from day one because of it. Be ready to handle any munchies you may get as a result of your body trying to use food as a drug to comfoprt you right now.
