I would suggest that you eat NO REFINED JUNK, stick with whole meats, fibrous veggies and low-glycemic fruits. That's my maintenance plan and has been for the past 4 1/2 years!

Enjoy that baby ... they grow up waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast.

MOMMY MUNCHIES RULE!!! CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD FOR YOU BREASTFEEDING THAT BABY!!!!
Simple rules for this ...I agree with Betty
eat a wide variety of freshly prepared foods, from all the food groups ..no junk avoid fast food, eat whole grains nothing refined or processed...do not skip meals, drink all your water...exercise and enjoy the fact you are doing the most important job in the world!!!

I snapped right back into shape by nursing babies ...it is the best kept diet secret on the planet!!!

I would not obsess about the carb "counts" as much as I would the quality of the carbs you are eating. HEALTHY HEALTHY HEALTHY.

Sorry I'm late on this, but totally agree with above posters. I would carefully follow hunger cues too, if I got too hungry while nursing, I got very shaky. I did do carb counts a couple of days, just to see where I was at, but I got back to pre-pg weight w/in 6 weeks just nursing (and of course not sleeping). When I did checks, I was between 100-125/day, spaced out over 5-6 meals, and NO sugar. That's a lot of good food and a lot of calories, but I guess what baby needed, because I never gained weight. I stayed right at pre-pg the whole time.

I started Atkins induction again the day after weaning my son and have had fantastic, and fast results, I really believe because my body was still that mode for awhile, y'know? I did induction for just 2 weeks, added rung one for 4 more, and then moved up 1 rung/week after that to where I'm at now. Your body may not let you lose more than the baby weight while nursing...but it sure will eventually

            Hugs
            Denise
