  • Finally 15lbs gone now....

Well we have decided to try for another baby. My concern is once I am pregnant how to handle this lifetime maintenace.

It says to follow your pre=maintenance ACE. Well I am not sure I have one and am not sure what to raise my "carb intake" to. I am pretty good at about 33 right now but still in ketosis..I DO NOT want to bring in any foods like the pasta and breads...maybe a whole wheat one..I did read an article that was posted when I made a search but her's was a one day sample menu. Last time my husband and I conceived quickly and I wanted to be armed with all my resources.

I welcome any experiences, stories, advise. I have read that book are for the lifetime maintenace as well and it is geared to your LLC which I don't know what it is and am not sure what I need to go over to get there. I am not sure what the baby would "need" CARB wise and don't want to eat incorrectly.

Thanks for listening and in advance..Thanks for your replies!!!!

Start taking prenatal vitamins and make sure you get your folic acid. Eat as healthy as you can and remember that exercise is important during pregnacy also.

check out the Atkins.com site One of their dietician staffers ate Atkins phase 4 whikle preg with twins and posted her foods lists. http://atkins.com/Archive/2002/10/25-756904.html

You can get an estimate of your ACE or CCLL from the charts in the book chapter 14 and the premaintenance chapters based on your induction weight loss determination of what type of metabolic resistance you have and the amount of exercise you are getting.

Happy low carbing and conceiving :wink

Thanks everyone..calling today to find out about the vitamins.

As for that artile I did read that and a few others..I am so spoiled because in OWL it tells you what to eat and when..lol..Now t hat I will have to choose to get above my CCL..which I still have to determine..I just don't want to be eating the wrong things. Like do I really need to drink milk? I can get calcium from other veggies. Probably could do oatmeal for breakfast cause that is high in carbs and that would insure over my CCL..well I will just take it day buy day, my main concern was getting out of ketosis once I have found I am pregnant..

move to pre amd it will tell you what to add and let you find your CCLL or ACE. then you can eat a few good carbs above that when you are preg. if you email her at the Atkins site you might get some better info.

After researching a little found this article she posted as well..much more in detail..wondered if it would be a good sticky to post in here if that were allowed. Maybe just under pregnancy move to lifetime main..

Just a suggestion..lol..thought this was very informative as well..wow!!!
