  • I need answer to a question..

how long did it take for your weight level out?

I got up this morning and had lost another 2lbs, from 146 to 144? my goal weight was 150, I've increased my carbs dramatically, but wonder if anyone else had a hard time leveling their weight?

I didn't really have that problem.... but I didn't want you to think you were being ignored.

    Of course, you might be, if you keep that up ;

Seriously, if you don't hear that someone else has experienced this, you should talk to your doctor. You look great in your pictures, though. Do you know what your body fat percentage is?

did you move to premaintenance when you had 5 pounds to go and take 6 months or more to get to goal like the doc says? I used OWL and pre like dr Atkins said and knew where my CCLLL aor ACE was so all I had to do was move slightly over the line and I stopped. I will fluctuate a pound or two either way depending on what I had to eat and my extra free exercise stuff i did but I've ben holding since FEB.

I kept losing for 2 weeks after I hit goal. Then, I hit a balance point when the loss stopped and I increased a little until I was right at goal. I stayed there for several months. I've since added some muscle and an additional 3 lbs and have been there since July 04.

Your body will figure it out. Don't go carb crazy to stop it!

would never go carb crazy, there just doesn't seem to be anything I miss?

No not sure about the bodyfat%, I used to belong to curves, in the begining? but they wanted me to give speeches to these groups, I'm not much of a public speeker type anyway, and these ladies just seemed to WANT to cheat, so they could have something to talk about in the support group that week... so I ran!..lol
do you have any idea where I could go to get it done? without having to BELONG to somewhere?

No I never did move to premaintanence, fear stopped me, I know I know, *hanging my head* I screwed that part up?

well hopefully it will work itself out like Perry says, who knows maybe I wanted 150? but maybe the body wants 140? we'll see

if you can measure well you can use mybody.com site to figure it out. your doc should have a hand held device too.

unless you get your carbs up to your body's stopping point or get your cals up you can continue to lose below a healthy weight.

You could try one of those gadgety places at the mall like Sharper Image or Brookstone and see if they have a Tanita scale you can try out. Have to be barefoot for it to work, but it might be easier than joining a club or going to the doctor.

ok this is just a little rant...

                OH OWwwww! :anger :bang :tounge

I went to that mybodycomp and calculated? it said I was at 30.8%, another site said at 30.8% I was obese? didn't do that calculator! a few height weight charts say I'm 23 pounds underweight? others said ideal weight? so how did you guys muddle through all of them to decide?... see this is why I never did this in the begining, talk about depressing... My body comp said I needed to lose 40 more pounds of fat? my husband will CRAP, he already says I'm a skeleton, and that my bones stick out of my shoulders, and my spinal column shows to much! oh my god, 40 more pounds will put me at 104? Ok I need to calm down, and think of a way to tell my husband I need to lose 40 more pounds, so he can start divorce proceedings. <I'm kidding>....

ummm after all I don't think I want to know, I won't be checking those places again.

I pick the one that says I'm perfect and assume the others are flawed :angel

There are some old insurance charts that were used for a really long time, but they're not very realistic. Those are the ones that will put you overweight with bones sticking out everywhere.

The charts where you fill out your height, weight, and bone structure are very rough estimates and shouldn't be used for fine tuning.

From what I understand, the water displacement method is most accurate (and hard to get), followed by caliper measurements, then electrical impedence (the easiest to get).

On a Tanita scale, I fluctuate between 28% and 30%, mostly depending on how much water I've had, and it's been very hard for me to accept that, on me, that's what's appropriate. If I go much below it, my ribs start to show on my chest. Like the ones under my collarbones.

But, according to charts and stuff, I still need to lose 18 lbs and 5% body fat.

I'd say, based on your pictures, that you're at or very near where you need to be. How do you feel?

whew Ok so that means I can quit rumaging through the cabinets looking for that old prescrip. of valium, and a chocolate doughnut?..lol.. :wave

I can't beleive that place gives those %'s, that is just sinister, can you imagine a teenage girl or young woman looking at that and thinking at 5'9" she had to weigh around 100 lbs to be ideal?... its no wonder so many young people in this country have eating disorders :yikes

cause at 28-30% you LOOK MAAAVELOUS DARLIN!

I feel great, thats why I posted the original post, even though I was eating the way I should in maint. the weight loss just kept happening, and my husband is having a fit, threatened to check me into a eating disorder clinic? like to see him try :guns ..lol...
but I think Perry's right it will even itself out, I'll give it some time, if not I'll go in for a check up..

Oh tell me about it. When I was a teenager at 5'3" and 115, I was 3lbs overweight for the *large frame*, which I do not have. Apparently my mom didn't look at the same charts, because she threatened to have me hospitalized for anorexia.

And I thought I was fat...

Your husband should see that you're eating fine. Tell him that you want to give it a few more weeks, then you'll take yourself to the doctor after the New Year if you continue to lose. Feel free to have him email me if he'd like to know what an eating disorder is really like
