Ditto what Jimmie and Sadie have said.

There's some confusion as to where on the Atkins plan you are, if you are following the plan at all. It doesn't seem to me that the Atkins for Life Forum (maintenance) is the right place for your posts either.
For the moment, I'd urge you to post in the Main forum. Perhaps you could be specific as to exactly where on the plan you are (sorry if you've already done this and I've missed those posts).

I'd urge you to read the book. Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - 2002 edition is the one you want and the one this board goes by. It was the last one written in its entirety by Dr A before his death, so hasn't had others messing around with it.

Please don't think we're giving flak. We are just concerned that people get the most out of the programme, and that means following it to the letter... not just for quick losses but for good health. We also are concerned that people new to the plan can sometimes get sidetracked off course when reading of other peoples alterations to the plan, and that they (the newbies) end up trying their own thing. More often than not, they regret this.

All best to you and congrats on your fast losses.

Edited to add: I just seen that you have indeed read the book, in which case you will see that though you are low carbing, you are not really following Dr A's way of eating. Hence our concerns for you and other newer members.

Soooooo I made it through two weeks of induction! OK well as close as I could get. I did have some peanut butter..but aside from that was pretty legal.

I'm still keeping on mostly induction foods but going to give myself some slack now. But I haven't decided if i want to add back foods in order slowly. Wont have to pay much attnetion to the 5g/ccll rule since I know my trigger foods, how high my carb level can go etc. but i may just add back a food a week for some structure.

I've been really good on the exercise too. But i'm quite sure i still haven't lost a pound which is why i think i'll take it slowly hoping to lose those stubborn lbs rather than jump right back to maintenance. I'm actually going to try to get in more veggies this week and actually DO the veggie rung.... something I never did! I hate veggies pretty much aside from chayote, celery, lettuce and cauliflower. I'm trying different recipes to see if i can get some variety of more colourful ones.

Maybe we get a little complacent, or is it that we just want to give ourselves the satisfaction (so called) of eating in a socially normal way once again... like getting it out of our systems for once and for all.
You know Sally, I think it was a little bit of both for me. Though in future, should I ever get that feeling again, the key word will be moderation....if i'd just had a small treat or bit of something here or there probably wouldn't have even gained..and may not have needed to reinduct. 1 chocolate instead of 1 box of chocolates sounds much more logical

Sounds like things are going well Jen! That's terrific, and I bet you fee good. Kudos to you for making it through induction again. Have to say, it's something I never want to go back to (but may have to)... eight months was enough for me!!

Great that you're so good about the exercise too!

I've cut out the alcohol and my beloved flax crackers with butter, which I always want to eat too many of. Have also generally cut down and am seeing the beginnings of results. I don't mind slow... as long as the direction is good.
