  • Advice from the "Losers"

    Greetings!

I was hoping that someone who was at goal and or
have been maintaining for some time would be
willing to share a daily menue with me?

And, what is your percentage of fats/proteins/carbs in a day?
My daily intake of carbs is currently around 40-45, if that helps and I
am in the final stage/ladder with "grains". I am also
    12lbs from goal.

Ever so often, I like to check/compare with others.

    I really appreciate feedback.

    Thank you,
    Artgirl

Do you want this moved to the Maintenance forum?

Just hate to see a post with no replies, and I know more people at goal and doing maintenance may see it in there

        Hi artgirl!! :wave

        My typical menu is

brekkie: 2 pcs of pepperidge farm carb style whole wheat bread
with butter and 2 tbs of sf peanut butter, glass of OJ

lunch/dinner: protein of some kind, usually 8oz, salad and broccoli or other non-starchy veggie.

snack if necessary: sf jello, or fresh strawberries and a little heavy cream.

I drink alot of green tea, no sweetener.

Typical percentages for me is about 60% fat, 25% protein and 15% carb.

I also run 25 miles a week and do weight training a couple of times a week.

        Hope that helps!

I've decided to take the weekly approach at goal, rather than the daily approach. Basically, add up what would be my daily carbs for the week and try to stay at that, with some days being high and some being low. I'm not good at counting, so I don't have a number for you. Just know what I can tolerate and watch closely to make sure I don't gain consistently.

Normally I'll have coffee with either eggs or low-carb muffins. Lunch varies depending on if I take something or go out. Dinner is usually a protein and veggies. If I need to snack, I have cheese and/or nuts.

It's kinda scary, to be sure. But you've come this far and you've learned a lot. You just need to trust yourself that you can keep doing it.

my daily carbs can range from 20 to 100 depending on the day (usually they're higher on the weekends)..but normally my menu looks kind of like this:

B'fast: Omlette with cheese and a protein (ham, diced chicken, pepperoni slices) coffee with soy creamer and stevia. If i'm up really early i'll have flax cereal then an omlette a bit later.

Snack; flax bread with s/f p butter or celery with s/f p'butter or cream cheese, or devilled eggs or egg salad in a lettuce wrap.

Lunch, a protein with veggies, usually zucchini, peppers, cauliflower, salad. occaisionally bean salad.

snack: pumpkin with splenda, red pepper slices with dip, almond/flax chocolate cake s/f jello, straberries with cream. (depends if i want a sweet or savory snack)

Dinner, small bit of protein with veggies, turnips, squashes, caulflower etc.

I also add the occaisinal slice of l/c bread on the weekends for a sandwich, or l/c wraps, though i prefer the micr. flax bread to be honest. I don't always have two snacks a day, and sometimes my afternoon snack is an after dinner snack instead. I just make sure i'm never hungry.

I've recently been trying to bring my protein amounts down they were too high. I'm now at 50% fat 35% protein and 15% carbs which seems to be a good range for me. I did this buy having more veggies, less meat with my meals...and adding some higher carb ones, butternut squash, more pumpkin, legumes etc. Though I think everyone is different depending on their metabolism...

              Thanks for sharing....

I have recently been a little more aware of my caleries and my snacking due to the fact that I just had braces put on my teeth. Between the snacks and the higher caleries, I have dropped a few more inches and lbs in just one week.

Also, my portion size dropped a slight bit becuase of all the work it takes to eat with this new gear on. So, between all of that, I think I have found a good medium for myself. It looks like my intake is 60/50 % protein, 30/20 % fats and the remaining being carbs.

Looks like your braces were just what you needed if taking longer to chew has cut down your eating and you are still feeling healthy then you were overeating your hunger satisfying signals before.

is that an error in your % or are you doing a high protein plan instead of Atkins.

                EDIT
