  • I've Gotten Sloppy!

    OK, I admit it!!!

I reached goal on Valentines Day, but have gotten sloppy about recording my food and it is starting to show. I am still below my goal weight, but I have started adding some pounds! My lowest weight was 191 lbs, but I have inched back up to 198, just two pounds under my goal weight.

I guess recording all of my food is not an option. I also found myself guessing at portion sizes more as well. So, this week I am back to being diligent about it.

Well done for noticing and doing something about it now
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Kudos to you Don for being on the ball and not letting things run too far. It's a wise thing to have a few lbs "handy" as a buffer zone, before having to take action. I'm sure it'll just be a few tweaks that get you back into safer waters.

hey don. that weight creeping back on happens SO EASILY! but you've been attentive and you won't let it get the best of you. be glad it is just a few pounds and not 50 or so! you will drop this in no time flat.

in truth, i think maintenance is MUCH more difficult that OWL. at least it has been for me. keep us posted on your success!

          Hi there, Don!

Yes, my friend... I know what you speak of. After reaching my goal weight of 125, I went ahead and lost 5 more and now consider 125 my "panic" weight. And... um... I had to change my ticker Sunday to reflect that I am now officially at "panic" weight.

My deal - I just plain eat too much. Hmph! Makes me mad that I can't eat as much as I want to.

Ah well... it's just food, right? I am now trying to re-capture my "EAT TO LIVE, NOT LIVE TO EAT" mentality. That's how I made it through OWL, and it's how I WILL survive maintenance.

          Good luck!

Yes, maintenance is definately harder. At least with OWL you had a plan and kind of stuck to it. Kind of like driving. You had a destination, and you just kept your eye on the map and kept driving towards it. However, once you reach your destination, your goal changes. You just need to be content with parking and never putting the thing into reverse!!!

200 is the magic number for me. Mitzi, that is my "panic" weight. If I stay below it, I will be fine. And like y'all said, it is nice to have some room At least while I am below it I am still in the parking lot. As I get closer to that number however, I start to panic and realize that I am about to enter the ramp to Disaster Highway!!!

It is also nice to see so many of y'all that have succeeded at maintaining. Kudo's to each of you! You give me inspiration!

I like how you guys call it the "panic" weight. 185 is the panic weight for me.

                Re: I've Gotten Sloppy!

I too like the panic weight idea too! My problem is I'm terrible for weighing, I become obsessed with it so it's been an all or nothing thing for me. I've managed to control myself to weighing twice a month now.

Good for you Don for catching it early, you are right maintaining is far harder than the losing stages. Trying to find the right balance takes a lot of work...it's great that you caught yourself early ...

Yes, the "panic weight" idea is cool. Mine has been inching closer these last few weeks too. I put it down to stress of work which makes me really "need" (ok... want, lol) that extra glass of wine in the evenings. And wine is my number one "problem" drink weight wise.

Mitzi... I never thought of it, but yes... just like you, it drives me nuts that I can't eat whatever I want and as much as I want!! BOO HOO
