  • So, what do you do?

I have been doing great.... reached goal, kept up with the exercise and watching my carbs to keep them within my limits... Then came the work trip from ****...

It was an emergency trip, all work and sleep, and they brought in the meals. There was absolutely nothing low carb, and I had no chance to get out and get good low carb alternatives. This went on for 3 solid days. A person has to eat something, and I had no options except for carby foods. When I say I had no options, I'm not exaggerating... There were no opportunities to get out to find anything.

Everything they brought in was a carb disaster, but I had to eat.

I haven't stepped on a scale, but feel bloated since my return.

What do you suggest? Back to induction and owl, and maintenance? Or, would you just go back to what you were doing before? I'm not sure how I feel about it, and could use suggestions from anyone else that may have gone through something similar.

    Thanks

Is your goal to be in ketosis? Are you in ketosis?
Personally I would be right back at Induction to get back into the full swing and let the body rid itself of the glycogen stores from eating all that crap. I think you would only prolong your agony if you don't redo induction.
Life can throw them at you huh????
    Good luck!

Re: So, what do you do?

      Hello Rick,
I would go back to Induction for four days to detox from the simple carbs, sugars and toxins that were in the carb load. Then I would resume to where you were.
Life happens! We do the best we can in the situations that life faces us with. Just detox and move on.

Re: So, what do you do?

Hey thanks for the quick replies! Much much appreciated.

I was thinking of going back to induction. I don't have the cravings of carbs, that I expected, just feel overly stuffed, or bloated. I don't feel hungry all of the time, and feel like I need carbs.

So, I expect that I will wake up in the morning and just go through induction again, full 2 weeks, and then see where I stand. I really don't think I gained a lot back or anything, just lost my Atkins momentum. Ya know?

I wish I'd had options... but they were either eat or starve. After a while, you have to eat, even when you don't like the options.

Again, thanks for the replies... It doesn't help that this is a holiday weekend! But, I will get back with it NOW. If I don't... well, you know how that cycle goes.
