  • ? for Lifers about their CCML

Loonatika posted in OWL that she's been able to increase her carbs significantly and still lose weight. She's a avid exerciser and it's probably due to her increased lean muscle mass.

Question: did any of you find that your CCLL increased from the time you began OWL to the time you finished Pre-Maintainenance or your CCML increased as you've built up muscle mass?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    You could be right.
I've been exercising more, eating more carbs, and yet the scale hasn't moved more than waffling one pound one side or the other of where I sit now, since June.

I postd in Loonatika's topic but it is a combination of the two. we get 25 more cals a day per pound of added lean tissue just ofr it being there but as Dr Atkins noted in the CCLL and CCLM charts vigorous exercise increases both and as we get in better shape we are working out more and can burn more carbs safely in our Atkins as our entire caloric needs for the day go up too.

If anybody wants to try it just skip your exercise for a week without altering your eating and see what happens to your ketosis. Manyof us that have been laid up with an injury have seen that drop in carbs we can tolerate without exercise.

      Happy low carbing.

        Glad you posted this Megs

It's actually pretty good motivation to keep up with the exercise too. Anyway I'm just glad leg muscles are the biggest and best to have with regard to the metabolism as my arm muscles are pretty much non-existant still unless I really really really flex
