    Question about Milk

If your carb bank allows, does anyone drink regular milk? I'm not much of a milk drinker, but I drink 1/2 cup a couple of times a month with cereal. That is 6 carbs which makes it 12 carbs for a cup. I guess my question is if you drink whole fat milk, does the fat it contains (8 grams per cup) help to blunt the impact of the natural sugar carbs, which are 12 sugars? Kind of like eating berries with cream or an apple with peanut butter.

    Sure would appreciate some responses.

    Thanks.

I've had the Hood Carb Countdown too. My question is merely about regular whole milk. Just wondering about it.

if you want to use your carbs for that the full fat milk is what you want for the very reason you stated. you should even cut it with some cream to keep it in a better Atkins ratio as full fat milk is only 3.5% fat. I really thought I wanted milk when I started Atkins as I was a big milk drinker with all my meals but when I got to the point I could have it it didn't taste that good to me and I'd rather have water to drink now.

I don't drink milk, just the carb countdown chocolate and very rarely at that. Mostly I drink decaf tea.

I drink milk when I have Kashi Go Lean cereal for breakfast (with a little peanut butter). However, I still notice that a higher carb breakfast (such as cereal) makes me hungry much earlier than a protein breakfast.
