  • Anybody Else Have This Problem?

OK, now that my fat intake has lowered slightly on OWl (fruit rung) and I have been attempting to lower my carb intake (as I am not actively exercising due to an injury and have stalled).... I can't seem to get my calories up to/past my BMR without adding more fat or carbs.

    Any suggestions?????

Add a tiny bit more fat to your diet. I made a sticky post out of your other thread concerning the ratios.

There's an example in the sticky that shows by lowering the amount of fat by even 1/2 tablespoon, you'll lower the fat percentage and increase the carb percentage. So we're taking really tiny amounts to make a pretty significant change.

It's all about tweaking till I get it down for my particular situation.

Yeah, it's a balancing act. So you might have to add a tablespoon or so extra fat to your current menu.

Play around with the numbers using a "dummy" menu on fitday and see what you get. You might only have to add tablespoon of fat here or there.

you can just step your Atkins back to where you were at your lower carb level but keep your rungs too. I just had to drop a bunch of carbs this past week cause of my ankle injury so I went back to my 45 net carb Fitday to see what I needed to be eating. You can look back and see where your fatds were when you ate your lower carb amounts and just use your new carbs to add up to your old number.

You might find you can't handle one of your new food groups without the exercise too.

          Happy OWLing.
