I was on the induction for 3 weeks and just this week added a few nuts and veggies that were on the no no list of induction so I guess I have officially moved on. I am still hardly eating these new foods only a few times a week so I suppose I am in the middle of transition. I never wieghed in before my intro and still have not weighed myself but I will this week. Look forward to all the suggestions and support! And by the way I feel great!

Ahhh Im reading my book wrong! I just read the stickies here. I had my induction so figured out. This owl section is much more confusing. Well I cant fret over whats done. Just need to start anew. So this rung is JUST the new veggies. No more nuts for me and deffinately no more carrots! Can u believe I thought this was one of my new veggies! UGH! Luckely I havnt had too many bad cravings screwing up like this. Tomarrow is my new day and Im going to read up on my beginig owl chapters tonight. Cant wait for the dairy rung! mmmmmmm

Hi :wave welcome to OWL - I am glad you decided to move on!
Well done for reading the stickies and amending your proposed menu!
I think we all found it confusing at first :hug
Have you read not2late's posting on 'how to find your CCLL' ? I found it very useful as it makes things very simple.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Ok I guess Ive moved on
Hey "somethingtowork"!
Welcome to OWL! We're glad you're here. Congrats on getting through Induction. That's a task in itself! OWL will provide you more freedom and variety in food choices. I have found that sticking with the Carb Ladder has really helped. I just started the Dairy rung this week and am looking forward to slowly adding cottage cheese and other cheeses.
Hang in there! It's a learning process for us all! Just remember that this is a life style change. We didn't gain this weight in a few months and it's going to take some time to lose it as well. (I have to keep reminding myself of this as I'm a little impatient in getting this flab off sometimes!)
Again, welcome!
Be well-

Thanks for the welcome! Yep I did read all the stickeys! They are really really helpful. Today I will stick to the proper diet. And this is not my first time on atkins. Its my second. The first time I felt great as I do this time. I feel so good when I eat like this its amazing. I dont do carbs well but for some reason I love them and once I take one bite I eat untill I am miserable and can hardly walk. Y do I do that to myself? I am aware this is a life change, and I really want to continue this time. Last time I stayed on it for about 3 or 4 months. I really hope to follow the diet fully correctly and stay on it for life this time. I know following the rungs correctly will help make this happen so following I go! Look forward to posting with u guys! Take care for now. Ohh yah one question:
Since I didnt want to weigh in before my induction I guess this means its impossible to figure out my metabolism? Is there anything I can do? Im going to weigh in this week sometime. I threw my scale out a few months ago :smackhead I HATED THAT EVIL THING!!!!

welcome to OWl nope you will just be shooting blind as you search for your CCLL so go slow and test and retest whenever you hit a snag to make sure if it is the food or the carb numbers that are giving you trouble. Happy low carbing.by the book atkinseer

just checkin in! Things are going great here with the diet. Been adding my new veggies and loving it. Sometimes I make things more difficult then they are when I start them! I feel much more confident after reading and rereading the stickies and the owl chapters in my book. Ill just take it one day at a time. Today I had an awful migrain but I doubt that had anything to do with the diet. Poor poor head.
