I just re-inducted and I'm planning to include foods up to berries since that's where I had stopped before I fell off the wagon (I did have low-carb beers but I want to stay out of that rung as it's a problem for me to have just one or two). I lost weight easily at rung 4, but it's been a while since I fell off the wagon. If I remember correctly I stayed from 30 to 35 carbs because I felt like I was really getting lots of berries, nuts and veggies and didn't think I could stomach more. I also threw some Atkins bars and a few other things in the mix and still lost weight. Per my dandr I don't need to do the 2 weeks, only a few days is needed to get ketosis going. But that might only be intended for those with a quick cheat. But I went into ketosis so quickly I thought I might be safe moving on. Any thoughts on this plan? Did anyone have trouble trying to skip back to where they were after re-inducting? Thanks for your support!

Re: Moving on after re-inducting
Hello "Checkers"
I think your plan sounds just fine. In fact, I plan on doing the same thing. I had a few food items that were slightly off yesterday as I celebrated Memorial Day with my family. It was not a huge 'pig out' like I would usually experience, just a couple of food items that are not usually on my list. I plan on doing Induction for a few days and then return to the rung I had was on before this which was nuts and seeds.
One of the things I do NOT want to do on this program is beat myself up every time I choose to veer from the pure path. I have found that in the past when I do this I end up stopping altogether.
So, hang in there, give yourself a pat on the back for getting right back to it. I had times like this in the past on program. You just get back on the 'horse' and continue on. The key is that you're not giving up.
Be well-

If you've fallen off OWL, drop back into Induction until you are in ketosis and then pick up where you left off. So your plan is the proper one.
Just remember if any food affects you, you need to drop that food from your diet. The Blood Sugar Symptom Test in Chapter 12 or 13 is good to gauge if a food is affecting your blood sugar/weight loss.

Thanks not2late. I've been thinking maybe I will also make a better attempt at continuing on the carb and finding my CCLL. After having really good success at 30 to 35 carbs for a while I stopped counting carbs thinking I had a good routine going. But I think the most important lesson I've learned is I need to count! I'm one of those people that either has to keep myself in total control or I'm out of control. Does that make sense?

Makes perfect sense.
OWL is the time where you have to count and measure. Induction is really mindless. Because most people are of average metabolic resistance, they can eat more than the Induction 20 and lose weight---which is why you'll see in the Extended Induction forum posts about eating pizza or pop corn and still losing weight. Well d'uh, folks, I have a CCLL of 40 so I can eat pizza or pop corn and still lose weight.
But during OWL and Pre-Maintenance, you have to count. Once you find your CCLL, if you need the extra discipline to stay on track, you might consider counting daily.

I'm not quite sure I understand... do any of you not get cravings if you go back to the same carb level or rung after re-inducting? If you spent 3-4 days back in Induction to get back into ketosis and then jumped back up to 30g+ carbs or the berries rung, wouldn't that spike your blood sugar in some way?30yo F 5'5 (166cm)

I've never had to re-Induction, so I don't have any experience with that. But it would be interesting to know for the re-Inducters if they did experience any problems moving back to where they left off. I'm guessing they generally don't--unless they add a food their bod doesn't respond well too.Originally posted by tickletusslerI'm not quite sure I understand... do any of you not get cravings if you go back to the same carb level or rung after re-inducting? That's an interesting question. I've not re-inducted either. I wonder if it depends upon how long your were 'off the wagon'....hrmm......Originally posted by tickletusslerI'm not quite sure I understand... do any of you not get cravings if you go back to the same carb level or rung after re-inducting?
