  • Calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I think my calories are waaaaaaaaay too low for my size (see sig.). For some reason, it's soo hard for me to get my calories up. Maybe the statistics are wrong, but it says I ate 1026 calories today. I think my body might have gone into starvation mode and thats why I haven't lost any weight/inches this past week. Does anyone have any idea how to get my calories up? I'm using the carb counter on the atkins website and maybe the calories are wrong or something. Here was what I ate today:

    Breakfast:
    2 Egg Omlette w/ cheese
    2 Bacon

    Lunch:
    1 Cup Salad (Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, 1 piece of bacon, mayo, chicken)

    Dinner:
    2 Cup Salad (Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, 2 pieces of bacon, mayo)

    Snack:
    5g of Cucumbers

    Snack #2:
    Scrambled Eggs (2 eggs with lots of cheese)
    2 pieces of bacon

    Plus about 80 oz. of water.
    And I count the butter too.

    Someone please tell me that the calories are a lot higher than I think, and advise me if I'm using fitday wrong. This is really scaring me!!!!

    Matt, can you make your fitday journal public and then post the link so we can look at it? I wouldn't be surprised if this was right. You're not eating much in the way of meat besides bacon and eggs. I've heard from other members that eggs can stall them, so maybe you need to back off from eating them at two meals.

      Hi Matt,

      Have you been by to see your doctor as the mods suggested in your Veggies post? As you are only 13, it may be good to consult with your doctor to get a figure of how many calories you should eat for your height and age. Remember you are still growing and very different from adults as we don't quite need the same nutrients as you do. also you are quite a tall male, so I'm guessing 1000 cals may not be enough - but you really need the advice of doctor and family here. I'm also guessing that your carb count would be somewhere btwn 10-15g right?

      By the looks of it, I eat very similar foods to you - the only exception is to get my cals up, I would use more olive oil, some sort of dressing on the salad, and maybe snack your cucumber with something like cream cheese or mayo - something fatty so that you don't absorb the cucumber carb as easily.

        Well, I use mayo on my salads. I'll try to do the cucumber with the cheese as you suggested.
