  • I'm an OWL!

Okay I ventured to this land before, and chickened out and went back to induction for fear of my losses slowing down. Since, I have slowly been adding more veggies, with no snag in my weight loss--I've actually been losing very steadily.

So this is the day I admit that I am a true OWL! Been one for a few weeks, just had to make sure I planned on staying this time before I annouced it to the world.

I am considering moving on to the dairy rung, as of next week. I will have to re-read the OWL chapters in my DANDR to make sure I am adding in the right things. I am a little shakey about this rung, because I know for a fact that cheese slows me down. I also know that I was buying the wrong kind of cheese. Fiesta Blend shredded, instead of the block cheese.

So here I go, ready with only 29lbs left to goal!

    Wish me luck.

P.S. I will be staying this time!

I've been buying greek style yogurt. Much lower carb than regular plain yogurt (8 carbs per cup) and it has a little firmer consistency. I use it for smoothies and I've also just been putting a little bit of sf vanilla syrup in and eating it that way. Much better than the flavored yogurts I used to buy. Let us know what you try. :joy

Thanks guys. Does anyone know if the carb options yogurt is legal--it's made with splenda. I know that I would need to count the sweetner servings--no prob, but I want to make sure it is legal first.

On the dairy rung, you can try out any dairy product: yogurt, the lc milk, fresh cheeses like cottage cheese, ricotta, fresh mozzarrella, etc.

You should count that the lc yogurt as one of your 3 daily splendas. Be aware the serving sizes on the "low carb" yogurts are about 3 ounces. So you might want to make your own yogurt instead. Use the search feature on the board to find the recipe for making your own yogurt using the Carbdown milk.

Remember if the dairy rung does not work for you, or stalls you, you can skip it.

When I did the dairy rung, the only thing I really added was the LC milk.. SO, it's up to you. If the cheese is a problem for you, don't add it..I did also add an occasional LC icecream too.. Dairy wasn't a real exciting rung for me.. the berries are my favorite!

Thanks for the big ole welcome mat! I am very interested in seeing how this rung goes for me. I've had the lc yogurt before, but it was before I actually started the atkins woe. I may try the lc ice cream, but other than that--I know for a fact that too much cheese stops my lose, and puts me up a few lbs. I have never been a milk drinker, unless I could have it with cereal or some oreos--and since cereal and oreos are no longer in my vocab, I just can't do the milk. So mu dairy rung additions will be lc ice cream, and lc yogurt!

                          Oh, yeah 213lbs this morning!
