  • Quick question-carb counting/veggies

    Hello all,

This is week 3 for me no weightloss for the last 2 weeks I'm going to be doing the veggie rung for a total of 4 weeks. Im not sure its the carbs because before i used to be able to eat upto 50 carbs with no problem(for example eat a bag of popcorn at cinema(when i used to cheat ). Now the last two weeks i was averaging 25 carbs now week 3 im upping it to 30 carbs.

I find this situation tricky should i lower my carbs?

I'm not really doing much exercise just light work outs. But here are my questions i usually cook extra food like a meat stew with onions and spices on the day i cook i count all the onions ive put in the dish. Now if the next day i eat the stew what should my carb count be for it? or can i ignore that carb count since i counted it the day before?

Can someone please help me with a list of veggies with higher carb count eating 5 cups of cauliflower is abit excess for me

When one item has no effect like week 1 i had cabbage 3 days, cauliflower 3 days and 1 day broccoli. Now my question is if these have no effect i can eat all of them on one day with no problem right? As long as they dont exceed carb count right?

Thanks for all the information given Happy OWling guys

    and dont be so quiet

    Didi

Are you still losing inches at 25 net carbs? If so, then you can move up to 30, but monitor your inches and pounds. Remember, inches lost is a sign of fat loss. I've never been "stalled" because I've always have lost inches during the time the scale was stuck (and is stuck).

RE: stew. The carbs don't change because it's a day later. It still has the same number of carbs. The broth might have slightly more carbs because during the cooking process some of the carb content "washes" into the cooking liquid---that's why about 90 years ago, diabetics were advised to "triple" cook their vegetables because the multiple cookings decreased the carb content of the veggies.

Some of the veggies on both lists have a relatively higher carb count like artichokes, pumpkin, cabbage (1 cup measured cooked is about 6 net carbs), jicama, tomatoes, onions, etc.

About eating all those veggies on one day and the effect....it's hard to say how your body will react. Your body might not be affected, but from my experience, I can't eat certain combinations of veggies and veggies and fruits because I have blood sugar instability symptoms when I do. So, this is something you'll have to determine for yourself.
