  • Starchy Rung

Hi to all starting the starchy rung today did well on the fruit rung but I see on the power of five that you can have 4 french fries, or 1/2 potatoe but I don't even have cravings for these, tried some corn didn't like it, anyway once I am done with going thru the owl rungs can I go back to induction

If you have 10 lbs to go you don't want to be on induction.
You should lose the last few pounds real slow and come up with an eating plan you will be on the rest of your life.
I occasionally steal fries from my kids' plates or have some corn in a salad. Some things like rice or bread give me cravings so I avoid them. I found that out when I was on the starchy rung. Being on a rung doesn't mean you have to eat that food every meal. You just want to try a few things and see how you react.
    Your next step is pre-maintenance.

Congrats on your loss so far!

I agree with Iap, why would you want to go back to Induction? OWL and Pre-Maintenance prepare you for your lifetime eating plan.

I don't eat the higher rungs everyday, but knowing that I can eat those foods is a great advantage to me in learning how I will eat during Atkins Maintenance.

So you really have 50 to go not 10?
No biggie. You want to stay on OWL. Remember that stands for Ongoing Weight Loss which is what you are doing. Most of your weight loss should be during OWL. The rungs thing is just something to help you figure out your CCLL. Once you do that, keep below it and the weight will continue to come off.

            Re: Starchy Rung

Some folk can't lose weight and handle the upper rungs like the starch veggies and the grains and wait to add those in premaintnenace. If your weight loss slows too much or stalls or you get cravings form them you can do yourOWL without them.
We don't have to eat foods from every rung every day. We just have the ability to have them if we want them.

            HAppy OWLing.
