  • Today is my first day on OWL!

I only lost a total of 5 pounds, but I'll take it! Just can't seem to get my butt in gear to exercise. I don't know what my problem is? I have a treadmill and a bicycle but I don't have me on either one of them?

I'm sure the weight loss would have been much better had I exercised.

Anyone have any motivational thoughts for me?

Also, I have a dumb question......... Does anyone on here REALLY put their lettuce/salad in a measuring cup (like I do) or do you all eyeball it? I don't think I'm getting enough carbs because measuring it doesn't seem to give me a whole lot?

You lost only 5 pounds in seven days? That's 0.7 pounds per day! That's great progress! And you shouldn't diminish it's significance. Go to the grocery store and pick up a 5 pound bag of flour and you'll see, 5 pounds weighs quite a bit.

I usually eyeball things like lettuce, but once a week I measure to make sure I don't get sloppy with my veggie measurements. I always measure my fruit, starchy veggie, nuts and legume servings.

Yep, here's my motivational thought, from someone elses signature line:

"Dieting makes you look good in clothes... Exercise makes you look good naked!" So get naked and get moving, but don't move naked in public or you might get arrested!

I don't - never have. I'm a rebel, what can I say? hehe Unless someone is seriously overeating total carbs, I don't imagine there are many people out there that gained weight from eating extra salad greens.

thanks, but I lost the 5 pounds doing two weeks of induction...........I know it's my fault for not exercising though. I know I could have lost more, but it's ok. I haven't seen my weight under 220 in a longgggggggggggggg time! Still happy!

I'm so glad I bought a dog instead of a treadmill. I now have two shih-tzu's and they are very hard to ignore at walk time. You need to teach your treadmill to whine and bark at exercise time. :VBG

Oh boy yes! Doggies are great motivation! Mine won't take 'no' for an answer when it comes to walkies! I try to tell them that Sundays it would be nice to rest up...but they don't seem to understand that, at all!!

I measure my salad, I think it's from all those years of Weight Watchers! I measure everything!

Dogs are a great way to meet your neighbors too!
