can't eat

For the past few days I've hardly been able to eat...I have a canker on my uvula (that haning flap in the back of your throat) it is all swollen and must be on a nerve because my ear is killing me...kills to swallow... how bad is it to drastically reduce your calorie content..I'm so afraid on sending my body into starvation mode?! Anyone got any ideas?

You should try this eggnog blender breakfast recipe I drink every now and then for b'fast. It's really good! That's if your not afraid of raw eggs...but as long as they are fresh w/no spots or anything weird on them they should be fine.

2 raw eggs
3-4 oz heavy cream (or half water half cream if you don't like it too thick)
a dash of cinnamon & nutmeg
1 splenda packet (or the low carb vanilla syrup)
If you not using the syrup then add just a little vanilla extract.

Blend it all up, and pour in a glass over ice. It's yummy and should be really soothing for your throat!

Can you swallow liquids? If so, then you'll have to eat soups until your canker is healed.

You're in luck since your on OWL because you'll be able to make creamy vegetable soups (of which they can be eaten warm or cold).

Getting worse.. Going to the Dr's tomorrow...and I'm not leaving until they tell me what the heck is going on and give me some kind of drugs... I miss downing my water...my body is craving it sooo much but I'm lucky if I can get 24 oz. down right now... okay enough complaining...hopefully I'll be feeling a bit better tomorrow..

I'd love to try the egg-nog thing but there is no freaking way I'm taking a chance of getting sick off that right now!!!!!!

This may be TOTALLY off base, but have you tried gargling HOT salt water? It can really help a sore throat. It may been to painful at this point. Just a thought.

Sorry I never got back to you guys...Last week was just a sucky week... my computer crashed and it took several days for us to purchase a new one and get it all set up. Daughter stepped on her glasses so we needed to buy her new ones and I was sooo ugly to my whole family...I was pretty miserable... I didn't end up going to the dr.'s. My doctor at the VA was on vacation which meant I would have to go sit in urgent care for hours with two kiddos... don't think so. I put salt directly on the ulcer...stung but oh well.... I think I started developing an infection on my tonsils etc. from the ulcer but I continued to gargle with hydrogen peroxide and just had to quit whinning and suck it up... and now it is finally bearable...whew...The old jen is back and I am so glad that I can eat again! Bacon, yummm...Thanks for all the input and advice...geez I hope that it doesn't happen again!
