  • Inches have moved this last month but scale is at a crawl! Any input?

Ok guys! Can you all give me some advice? I have moved into the OWL phases and my loss has truly slowed! Is this normal when one is close to their goal? (I don't actually know what my weight should be...I am trying for 24% body fat! Not there yet!)

My weight has not gone down for 2 weeks. Prior to moving into OWL I would lose at least 2-3 pounds a week and have throughout this whole process. Sometimes more. Anyhow, I lost a total of about 7 inches and 5 pounds last month. Is this how slow I want things to be at this point of the game? I guess I am just looking for some advice and reassurance that this is what should be happening to me now. Deep inside I guess I am kinda scared that "this is it" for how much weight I will lose. This is upsetting to me because the 'ol hips, thighs, legs, and stomach still need some attention.

Ok! I'll stop rambling and wait to hear good advice from my friends!
Thanks in advance for any input regarding how things have worked for those who have reached your goal.

    Blessings!

    Yes is the short answer!!

I havent got my DANDR at work but think I remember something about wanting your weightloss to slow as you approach goal to about 1 pound a week or less.

Or it might be that you have passed your CCLL with your latest 5 net carbs addition.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I agree, yes is the answer. I think it's amazing that you were able to lose 2-3 pounds a week! Often with losing inches it takes a while for the numbers on the scale to catch up and wow, you lost a lot of inches in the last month. Remember not to stay on OWL until your goal weight as it is important to move through all four stages of this woe in order to maintain for life. Congratulations on how well you've done so far!

Thanks for your input! SO....This is how it is supposed to go. In otherwards, I probably will still continue to lose weight and will be able to drop below 169...it is just going to take a little longer now?

Elizellen, I will take a look at my CCLL, too. Maybe I need to drop back by 5 like you said.

        Thanks again!

This time around, on induction, I only lost about 1.8 lbs per week. 18 lbs in 10 weeks. Not exactly dropping weight quickly. Inches are about double that........

Our bodies drop pounds on their own schedule. I can't really figure it out much except that I know my own pattern this time around, which appears to be: drop 1-2 lbs, "pause" for 5-6 days, drop another 1-2 lbs, "pause again". <shrug>

Sometimes frustrating, but the numbers are going DOWN, not up, so I'm pretty happy. And that's on INDUCTION. I have NO idea what is happening on OWL........

you are doing great don't forget the scales measures the effect of gravity on your total body mass. We are morphing our bodies on Atkins adding Muscle mass burning up fat mass and our fluids are in a constant state of flux. you could easily have lost 3 pounds of fat added 1 pound of muscle and 2 pounds of water for a neat scale loss of 0 but several inches gone ( which is why Dr Atkins defined stalls as 4 weeks of neither scale weight nor inches lost). Remember folk see the healthier smaller you not the scale number unless you tatoo it to your forhead.

Thanks 2 Big and Finelly! I appreciate your input and the gentle reminder that when our body is changing it is a delicate and complicated process!
