  • How to monitor success on OWL

I just wanted to make sure that as long as the metabostix are still turning slightly pink (I drink over 140 ounces of water a day so they never get real dark) that I am OK on that rung of OWL. Are there other things I should be looking for? I usually only weigh and measure once a month at Curves, should I do it m ore often while on OWL to make sure everything is OK?

I suppose it depends. OWL is such a food experiment. If you're going through the rungs and are monitoring how your body reacts to a new food, you may need to weigh weekly. Also if you're trying to determine your CCL a weekly weigh in may be more beneficial. If you're staying at a certain rung and not introducing new foods then monthly may be fine.

OWL is great because it's so individualized but I find it's a bit more 'work' then induction. But it's the 'work' that's gonna make us life-long successes.

Good for you. I am such a scale addict that I think I would have withdrawls if I stayed off more than one morning.
I really believe that scales are the worst way to monitor your weight loss. Staying in ketosis is a better way. Measuring inches is also a great way and monitoring how your feeling.
I mean, if you add a rung and suddenly you start having cravings or problems, you probably could assume that that rung is one you should avoid.
Some folks lose steadily every week but others go in spirts, so scales are really pretty worthless.
Great post by the way, and great question
