  • Move or stay in OWL

Hi to everyone , I was wondering should I stay in OWL or move to Pre Maintence I have been on the last rung which seems like forever and yet still I don't quite like this rung, Oh I have tried low carb bread and tortillas and even cereal but all in all I still don't eat bread or should I say I don't like the taste of no kinds of bread, so could someone help me out here. I have been losing constantly with one or two stalls but not for very long.

This is just my opinion, but there are rungs that don't interest me, either. What I'd focus on instead is just slowly adding 5-10 carbs a week of the rungs you DO enjoy and keep adding until you stop losing weight. Then roll back a few grams to keep the weight loss going until you get within 10 pounds of goal. From there, you'll roll into pre-maintenance where you're trying to lose the last 10 pounds verrrry slowly. You want the last 10 pounds to come off so slowly that you are already essentially in maintenance mode, so that hitting goal won't be, then, a sudden stop in weight loss coupled with a necessary addition of carbs suddenly which might cause blood sugar spikes. So I'd stay in OWL, adding 5-10 grams a week until you hit your ACE, or CCCL.

PM just means that now that you know what you can eat...try eating a little more until you stop losing....then pull back.
I wound up losing 10+ lbs under my goal...and didn't stop losing until I was past goal. Basically you're trying to figure out what you're going to eat...for the rest of your life.
Can you afford a minor cheat now and then? How does it affect you?
It's just a time to experiment a little more...but always be ready to pull back if you stall or start gaining.
Also if you're near goal it may be time to up the exercise...because that's the best way to keep the weight off.

Maintenance is the hardest part of the diet...because it never ends and the scale doesn't move...unless it's the wrong way.

I agree with Cleo. Just because you are on that rung doesn't mean you have to eat something from it. Try adding 5 more carbs from one of the other rungs and so on until you stop losing. Stay on OWL until about 10 pounds from goal and then move on up.

Iam eating between 30-40 and Iam still losing, one time I upped it to 60 carbs and still lost. I agree that I will stay until Iam within the last 10 lbs. Thanks everyone for your help.

If you were able to up your carbs to 60 net carbs daily, then try to find your CCLL. It will give you more food variety on a daily basis and it will give you an idea of what your CCML is.
