  • Holiday Fears

Hi everyone. I will be moving to OWL soon. And I am a little concerned with the holidays approaching. Has anyone had any experience dealing with big family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners? Would it be a huge mistake to endulge those two days?

It would be a VERY big mistake, yes!

Holidays should be about people and events...not food.

Start planning NOW how you plan to get through those events as the holidays near and you'll be so much better off in the long-run!

Here's a thread which deals with Thanksgiving.

There are many ways to give thanks minus the food. And why not make an annual event of a family croquet tournament or some other exercise instead of eating too much and then sitting around sleeping afterwards, as we Americans so often do.

Yes it would be a huge mistake!!! Don't use a holiday as an excuse to eat whatever. Stay on plan. I would still move to OWL so I could widen my food choices and have more carbs to play with but still stick to plan!!!
