I was stuck in induction and I must admit somehow I was scared to start OWL.
I thought I had to see the scale moving to be able to start OWL, but I am so bored with induction I had to do something, cause I think I was trying to make it more interesting for me by eating cheese and cream up to the limit every day and I think that was what made me stand still.
Well, so all of a sudden yesterday I started rung 1 and had a heap of extra celery to start with, geeeee, that was good !!!!
I hope this was what I needed and that I will see some results again soon, measure-tape or scale wise, don't matter, but SOMEthing.

So when I understand it well: when I don't eat any new-to-me veggies I can immediately eat 5 extra carbs every day instead of just 3 times this week ?
Cause I read all the stickies and that is what I now understand of it (including the sticky that says "OWL rules have a typo")
I must say it is still a bit confusing to me, but I am sure I will love the more variation to bits !
    See you around !!

    Welcome to OWL.

The cheese and cream gets people all the time. Just remember as you add carbs into your diet, your fat intake either stays the same or slightly decreases. So, you might want to check your menues with fitday just to make sure your fat percentages drop too low. Even during Maintenance, the fat percentage is about 40-50%. During OWL, it shouldn't drop below 50%.

Good thing, hmmmm, I look forward to my next stirfry !
Indeed I found out that I have to readjust to the balance in fitday, yesterday I was at 7 carbs, 34 protein and 59 fat, but it was too late to really do something about it, today I will try at leats lower the protein a bit, cause I think 34 is a bit too high.

          thanks !!!
It feels really good now, I think I made the right decision, I really started to feel fed up with the limited choices I had, now I again had a wonderful stirfry for dinner, hmmmMMMMmmmmm, I see now how I missed having more veggies.
I really wonder where my CCLL is gonna be at, I guess I find out in the coming weeks.
          Happy to be here !!

            Re: plunging into OWL

I trhink Megs has a typo it should be OWL fats stay at above60% not 50%

The new to you food is only 3 times a week the first week you have it even if you are already passed the rung for it successfully like say you are on the legumes rung and haven't had cranberries yet but they are now in season so you plan to add them this week. then you would include in your net carb count some carbs up to 5 net for cranberries 3 times maximum this week. then if you didn't get any problems like cravings or stalled out weight issues you could have them every day th4e rest of the cranberry season.

the new 5 net carbs is everyday. you just use already old to you foods from the rung to get the 5 net carbs on those no new to you foods.
