  • First 20lbs gone.

I admit, the idea of OWL was terrifying to me, so I approached it pretty carefully. Induction was easy - everything was spelled out so exactly that I could adhere to it without too much thought. I decided though to go ahead with OWL because I don't see myself living on such a low amount of vegetables for the rest of my life.

    And it worked!

I'm just about to enter the Berries rung and my total to date is 20lbs gone. I know I'll lose pretty slowly, as I have a medical condition that prevents me from ever getting overheated or even just a bit too warm, but I'm okay with that. As long as its going down (and it is), I'm happy.

congratulations on your loss so far - remember the tortoise -- slow and steady wins!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          Congrats!

The way I tackled OWL was to keep in mind that the Induction Foods list formed the "base" of my diet. The OWL foods were additionals I could have. So every rung I went up, I added those foods to my growing Acceptable Foods List. That makes it alittle easier for those of us who need the structure of having a list to eat from: OWL Acceptable Foods List = Induction foods + Rung Foods.

I meant get overheated or warm in terms of exercise. I have chronic urticaria and exercise induced urticaria, which basically means if I get too warm I become covered in hives. The danger is anaphylaxis, which means I'd not be able to breathe. So to be safe, I'm following my doctor's advice of staying calm, cool, and sedentary til they find a way to control it.

OWL still feels very scary to me too but am going to get my brain in gear and use fitday more often. That way it's so much easier to see exactly what I am eating and keep an eye on the percentages.

Have been wobbling up and down the same few pounds since July so it's about time I got my butt in gear and got on with things properly. I was in a play with my office amateur dramatic group which finally finished a fortnight ago and have only this week got my energy levels back.

Time to get back to being fitter and healthier. I don't have any easy way to scan pics in or I'd show you just how much better I do look since being on Atkins!
