  • Back to Basics

Well, I am 34 pounds down since the end of June. Not bad, but not great either. And, I only get on the scale about every 2 weeks now mostly because I just am too busy. So I am no longer a slave to the scale.

However, since I have not been "worrying" about weighing in so much, I feel that I have become very lax about my program. I am not cheating in that I am eating sugar, flour, etc. but I am not counting my carbs like I should, eating items here and there from upper rungs that I have not "officially" moved on to(like nuts), eating more than the 5 net carbs of those items, etc. And low and behold, the weight is not really coming off anymore! Amazing realization.

So, I want to "get back to basics". I am wondering if the best thing to do is to go back to Induction for a couple of weeks and then pick up where I left off in OWL?
I really want to get back to seriously doing this program. I am going to Disney with my daughter in June and my goal by then is 70 more pounds so I need to average 8-10 pounds per month from here on out!! Plus, I am going to get serious about excercise!

Anyone else need a challenge? Maybe checking in and doing something like that would keep us on track and motivated!! Let me know, as I am sure I would need to post on a different forum for that!

Are you still in ketosis? If so, then there is absolutely no need to go back to Induction. Instead, you need to go back to the carb level with which you were losing weight, because from your summary, you stopped losing when you stopped counting your carbs and started eating more than 5 nets of those upper rung items. Do that for a week or two and see if you lose weight/inches. If you do, then proceed with OWL.

If you aren't in ketosis, then drop into Induction for a few days (just long enough to get back into ketosis), then move to the OWL rung/carbs where you lost weight and continue with OWL.

yep after your initial 14 days of induction eating induction levelis just a tool for getting back into ketosis if you are out of ketosis. So find your food jopurnal and clean up our eating. then see where you are and if you even need to drop back down 5 net carbs or not. reread chapter 14 so you can use your OWL tools Dr Atkins gave you for when you have trouble losing.

Exercise will help your fat loss. And remember even if you don't make that number by Disney you will be healtheir and smaller and able to keep up since you will have lots more endurance then then you do now from your new exercise programs.

WHat did you pick as your program.

I have actually never checked for ketosis so I am not sure. I am not sure about what "program" you are talking about 2Big - if exercise then I am going back to Curves. It works in my schedule. Just get the ketosis strips to see if I am in ketosis or is there another way to determine ketosis?

The last couple of days I have been parched continuously. To the point where no matter how much i drink, my mouth is dry. I have actually been thinking of calling the doctor. It seems better today but was bad 2 days ago...
