    Freezing yougurt?

I bought way too much yougurt, and now I don't have time to eat it all before it expires. Can I freeze this yougurt? If so what is the best way to do that? just freeze and let it thaw before eating? Or should I try to do some kind of dessert (like emulating ice cream) and eat it frozen?
Recipes for frozen desserts would be great! I have about 16oz fermented milk yougurt and 9oz greek yougurt.

    Any ideas?
    TIA

I've never froze yogurt before (unless it was for frozen yogurt). But I did a google search and found this for you:

Awesome link, Megs....I didn't know about some of that stuff...like what the whey was all about and what it meant to have it on the top of the yogurt. I'll be stirring it back in now, and not pouring it out!

I read a "traditional" foods cookbook and the whey can be used for other things because it still contains some of the beneficial bacteria. I'll have to re-read that book....

My kids love the yogurt tubes and we freeze them all the time. I'm so glad to read that freezing them doesn't affect the cultures. I really never even thought about it before. Thanks for posting the question.
