So, I skipped the dairy rung and finally started the seeds and nuts rung.
I do understand that of all nuts I am only supposed to eat 1 ounce, but for example, the seeds, like poppy seeds or sesame seeds, do I eat only 1 ounce of those too, or do I go according the given carbcount (for example poppy seeds would be 4,5 tbsp = 5 carbs, or sesame would be 0.35 cup = 5 carbs, acording to fitday) and sunflower seeds ? and pumpkin seeds ?
    Hmm, kinda confusing.

Oh and I started by adding some flax in again, I do think flax is a no-no for me though, it kinda makes my weight go up again and I noticed that before (when I used them as my fiber instead of psylium) so that's why i wasn't eating it anymore and I noticed there are others having problems with it (like retaining water and I think that's what's happening to me right now too)

Btw, after this loooooong stay around 169/168 lbs or there abouts I am finally seeing some movement again, so I think I am on the go again, I had to kick out cheese again though, I think I will never be able to have that untill in maintenance maybe
I am now hovering around 166, so that's something going

You only add 1 ounce of nuts, with the exception of cashews---they are limited to 1/2 ounce. Don't ask me why nuts don't follow the 5 net carb rule, but that's how they are counted in the Atkins books. My guess is that they are limited due to calories and portion control.

For example 1 ounce of macadamia nuts has 1.4 net carbs (3.7 total carbs, 2.3 fiber grams) and 200 calories. 5 net carbs of macadamia nuts (15.1 total carbs, 9.1 fiber grams) would be roughly 4 ounces and over 810 calories!

yep they are limited and if you look in your DANDR in the early sections there is a page on nuts and it seems Dr Atkins believed that 1 ounce of nuts was 5 net carbs so based on his thinking that is why they are limited that way.

But you can add more then one rung of nuts if you can handle them since they are so healthy.

yah, cool, I knew about the 1 ounce rule, what I want to know though is about the seeds, so do I also only put in 1 ounce of seeds, or am I allowed to put in 5 carbs worth of those ?
So sesame seeds, poppy seeds, those, cause they are no nuts, they are seeds

Seeds follow the 1 ounce rule too. Seeds are a type of nut (or nuts are a type of seed, I forget which). Anyhow, both nuts and seeds are limited to 1 ounce, with the exception of cashews which are limited to 1/2 ounce.

I am roasting an ounce of pumpkins seeds as we speak - one ounce is about 5 Tablespoonsfull which is quite a lot of seeds!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
