  • I need help

I have been on Atkins since the end of June. I have lost 34.5 pounds so far. My problem is that I have not lost anything since September. I am not on a stall for any reason except that I have given in to Frankenfoods. I have found Sugar free peanut butter cups, using heavy cream mixed with cocoa powder (2 xs per week) I have started indulging in low carb ice cream etc.. I have not gained any mind you but I have stopped losing.

I really need to get back on board with a clean program. These low carb products have jump started my desire for sweets again and I can't stand it! I would like to go back to the basics it just doesn't seem as easy to quit once you have started "cheating".

I have looked at some of the boot camp stuff. I am not sure I qualify for that as I had moved on to OWL earlier. I am just wondering if someone can direct me to something on this board where I can have a little help with accountability? Please let me know if there is something like that in this forum as I would like to get back on track and could really use a partner.

    Thanks,
    Kelly

Hey, girl! It looks like you know what you need to do, but I'll reiterate for you:

Cut out the processed junk. Did you know that there are plenty of people out there who actually stall or gain weight eating sugar alcohols? I'm one of the people who absorb all the carbs from those low-carb candies! I was not only stalling, but I was gaining.

The trick isn't to go back to induction unless you are honestly out of ketosis, and then only long enough to hit ketosis. Then jump back into OWL or stay in extended induction for awhile until you feel ready to hit OWL or modified OWL. Only instead of eating processed foods, stick to what you know you really are supposed to eat. Those modified foods are baddy badness.

Also, if you're not already, I highly recommend either starting an exercise program or charging it up.

Both quitting the bad foods and adding an exercise regimen (or changing one) will make a real difference in your success!

Stalls are common but you probably have pinpointed your problem.
Start a journal, they are so helpful
Join the Second Time Around Club. They are a great support and will let you sneak in even though its not your second time.
      Start using fitday again
Keep posting and helping others. It always helps.
Stay off the scales, they are evil. LOL

Thanks. I have stayed off the scales usually because i am just too busy. I guess I am very lucky that I did not gain. I am just feeling depressed. I know I should get back on fitday but I am sooo busy that I am exhausted when I get home and it just seems like too much work. I am not sure if I am in ketosis or not, never was really sure to be honest. I know what I am doing wrong for sure. I just feel that sense of being out of control again like I used to. It's not quite the same thing because I have not eaten regular carb foods like I used to but I feel just as guilty eating the "low carb cheats" as I would have if I had a pint of Haagan Daaz!

Thanks for the support, i can use all i can get today!

You've gotten good advice. There's really no need for you to do Induction. Just drop the foods for a few weeks and see what happens.
