  • Got a Carb Counter

    WOW I am sooo excited things I didn't think I could have I can WOOHOO. I didn't realize that Pineapple My fav fresh fruit thing is only 4.8 carbs in a quarter a cup and cantalope is only 3.3 per Quarter WOOHOO I am sooo excited to try some newer stuff YAY!!!

    Now that I have gone through the rungs realize I have Problems with Dairy Darn it, Some nuts and All grains BAD BAD trigger. I am gunna add in one Fruit per week. I think I may buy a fresh Pineapple and have a 1/2 cup WOOOHOO.

    Good for you. I have a question though....how did you go through the rungs without having a carb counter because the Induction cup measures don't work in OWL?

    FYI for everyone still climbing the Carb Ladder: Pineapple belongs to the "Fruit Other than Berries Rung"

      Oh I had a basic one it didn't have pineapple and stuff on it so I was really happy to see I could have it. I actually never looked it up and was nicely surprised to see that I could have it LOL. I usually read labels and such a lot of it I actually just looked up on the internet having a list really did open my eyes to more possibilities which ROCKS.

      I got it with My dander book I llost it somewhere so I had to buy another one. What a piss off but, hey the local drugstore had it. I have 2 others around here somewhere, with the kids stuff gets lost so having this little thing in there was really cool.

        Lots of stuff out there to try and see how you react too dairy grains and nuts oh bad. Are you gluten intolerant or carb intolerant wiht the grains?

        LOL Megs, is that a Megs declaration of where it belongs?

          I am not sure how to tell if I am carb or Gluten intolerant is there a different way to tell???

          I know with nuts my throat gets really sore but with the grains I just have a little and want to eat everything in sight like a bad trigger so I stay away from the grains. I don't get this with any of the fruit I have tried. I have had Most berries and NAN king cherries, apples, grapes, half an orange(that one was bad for cravings) mango, peached MMM Yummy and 1 1/2 a pear that was a bad one too for cravings

          I like the variety it's sooo aweosme

            if it is gluten you tend to get sick too. were your grains yeast free too I remember you had a yeast issue before.

            usually most folk do just a bit of the other foods at a time likw some pear in their salad or some pear slices with cheese until they have great control of the urges to eat a house.
            IF you have the AFL book Dr Atkins ranked the fruits by his GI method called Atkins Glycemic Ranking and some of the other fruits are eat sparingly even though they are legal because if the Blood sugar spikeing they do.

              They have that at the Store I really think I will buy that here tomorrow and have a look. I was looking at it and thinking to myself man I should get that. I should have Hope it's not gone.

              I didn't feel sick I just within 20 minutes felt like eating the kitchen. LOL so I will stay away for now and try again here in a bit maybe a month or something. Should I maybe try the whole grain Black rice or what should I try that won't be soo nastie. I had a slice of Whole grain rhy made without flour.

                Have you got the book ATkins for Life. I saw it on special and bought it, it is for those in pre-maintenance and maintenance. It's very good with notes on the GI and lots of menus and meal plans. I can recommnd it. I have all my diet books in a special shelf, there's w or 3 Atkins ones and one I have on low carbing using Gi by an Australian doctor. It is very good, he explains very clearly how medium GI and over carbs make your body release insulin so you then absorb all fat from that meal.
                I don't have it here, I posted a post some time ago with the details and a link but can't find it, I'll post it tomorrow.

                  actually the first grain Dr Atkins says to try is oats
                  AFL is Atkins For Life for anybody reading and not knowing what AFL stands for.

                    OAT HMM I must have missed that in my reading I may Just try that but, to tell you the truth I am really scared to try it. Is there any suppliment I can take with it that will counteract cravings if I get them I have Chromium I take every day but, will that help??
