That's great you are losing weight. Congrats on being successful on your variation of the DASH Diet. Some of us can lose and maintain weight without controlling our carbohydrate intake, and some of us can't. You're obviously someone who doesn't need to control carb intake.

So good luck to you and I hope you have continued success.

One day when we're all on Maintenance, maybe our bodies will be able to tolerate that, but right now in OWL, that'd balloon most of us right up.

Come on, Garilla, you are having a laugh aren't you?

Your 'plan' is a low fat/high carb one so nothing to do with Atkins at all!! So if you need advice or encouragement you will need to find a board which follows that particular way of eating.

Good luck with your chosen change of plan - I know I couldnt be satisfied with just that to eat all day!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Fair enough dear, to me I view it like this, getting you’re body into a low carb high protein diet, although weight loss it’s achieved, it's seems too hard to maintain. i.e. balloon most of us right up, when you try eating 'normal' again. So I figured to see if I could get my body into losing weight mode by eating what I would most likely be eating after I reach my goal and maintain myself. But I'm glad Atkins works for you, all the best!

Well it seems to more than satisfy me love, so I’m happy.

Thought i'd share my success even though it's not the Atkins way.

but, wouldn't your ways be of more use on a board, that did the kind of woe you are doing, instead of on a low carb board? i mean, there are some people out there that could probably really benefit from your success. if you really wanted to be helpful and share your success, i would think another board would the ticket.

At risk of being guilty of 'feeding the trolls' I just had to add that most of us who have decided that Atkins is a way of eating for life consider that following Atkins maintenance phase once we reach goal IS eating normal.
So personally I dont think I will 'balloon' when I continue to eat normal Atkins maintenance foods once I hit goal weight.

If what you have posted is what you consider 'normal' then I wish you luck with your chosen way of eating for life and look forward to seeing you, trim and healthy looking and full of energy on worldwide TV programmes promoting your 'Garilla's Newest Diet Revolution'.

Re: A Regular Day On My OWL

When I first read this thread, my first reaction was to lock it because I smelled a troll in light of Gorilla's previous posts on ADBB.

But I didn't. I don't regret my initial decision because I hoped that Gorilla wasn't a troll. Unfortunately for Gorilla, he has proven himself to be a troll. Worst of all, he has proven himself to be an uneducated troll, in terms of the Atkins diet.

When Gorilla first posted, he came as a newbie wanting to start the Atkins diet. That's fine, lots of newbies and people even considering starting this diet come here to ask questions. It's an interesting progression. Your first posts indicate you were willing to give Atkins a try (refer here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=24374), but within 1 day of that thread you post another complaining that you can't subside on 20 grams of carbohydrates daily (refer here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=24389). When advised by other posters that your menu was not consistent with Atkins Induction, you are turned off because you don't eat high fat foods. Which is rather contradictory since you admit you've been eating McDonalds for dinner your entire life. Your pattern of behavior is consistent with the people who try to do Atkins their way, fail miserably, and come back here to prove Atkins doesn't work. Sorry. I've read too many editorials from people like you to even care anymore.

This thread was basically a "nah nah nah, look what I can eat, hah hah hah you can't because your following Atkins". Silly Gorilla. The OWL/Pre-Maintenance forum was the worst place to post this thread, because many of us here can eat those things you listed in your menu and, like you, can lose weight. If you were educated on Atkins, you would have known that.

If you were educated on Atkins, you would have known that Atkins is not a "low carb, high protein diet".

If you were educated on Atkins, you would have known that the weight Maintenance phase is different than the more restrictive weight loss phases and that the most restrictive weight loss phase lasts a minimum of 2 weeks.

Don't get me wrong as a person who admittedly has eaten McDonalds for dinner his entire life and whose parents have done the greatest disservice of not teaching you proper nutrition (refer to your post here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=24388), you are making improvements in your diet. That is good. And that is something of which you should be proud.

But if you choose to discuss Atkins with us here on ADBB, please educate yourself about the diet first. Otherwise we'll be forced to point out your lack of knowledge.

I do hope other ADBB members read this thread. It's a pity you decided to post it in the OWL/Pre-Maintenance forum because the newbies seldom visit this forum and they would have learned greatly from your ignorance about the Atkins Nutritional Approach.

Good luck to you on your weight loss journey. If you ever do decide to do the Atkins diet properly, please read the book.

PS: I've decided to lock this thread. You see, I know you will respond with some kind of illogical, nonsensical Atkins myth, just like every other troll has done. Since your knowledge of Atkins is limited, you will only appear more and more uneducated. So, I'll spare you that humiliation by locking this thread.
