Hi everyone. For the past two days my stomach has been extremely bloated and grumbly feeling. I just started rung 3 on Sunday and had 2tbls of chunky peanutbutter (natural, no sugar) and than Tuesday I had 1/4 cup unsalted sunflower seeds. The timing is off for it to be TOM issues so could it be some kind of trigger to the new foods?? I have never had issues with nuts before. Or maybe it's just a stomach bug and I'm looking to hard for triggers?? Thanks!

Abdominal bloating is a symptom of Blood Sugar Instability. Remove the nuts from your diet and see if they are the culprit.

no don't skip it do as Megs said remove them and see what happens. then test again with the nuts one type one brand at a time and see if it was those nuts or something else. we have folk who can't tolerate macadamia nuts but can handle almonds oe walnuts we have some folk who can't hanlde any nuts and many mnay folk who can do peanut butter.
Also nuts in the processing can be exposed to mold and yeast spores and can cause Candida issues too so you got lots of things going on more carbs, new foods, new day could be this could be that? so you repeat the experinet controlling as many variables as possible. if nuts return re causes it try niuts return but carb count 5 net lower as you may be at your right now CCLL and exceeding it did this.

Thanks 2big and Not2late. You are both so helpful! So in your experience do you think 3 days is a long enough wait before trying them again or should I wait until next week? And just out of curiosity in trying to learn what the heck I'm doing, it seems like it could take weeks on certain rungs before you are knowledgeable and comfortable enough before moving on? Does that seem like a valid observation?? I just don't want to rush threw the rungs but than again, I don't want to read too much into them either.

I spend/spent a lot of time on my rungs because before Atkins I eat a wide variety of foods (lots of different veggies, fruits, ethic food and food products). Therefore it really depends on what your diet/menues are like. If you don't care too much for exotic ethnic foods or if you limit yourself to certain veggies and fruits, then you try out the foods you would normally eat on a particular rung. For example, when you get to the legume rung, you might want to try out kidney beans if that was something you ate pre-Atkins and would like to eat again.

Bunny, I have only lost 7lbs in 8 weeks so to me, 5 lbs in 11 days is WONDERFUL!! I'm sure you didnt gain your extra weight overnight so how could you expect to take it off overnight??
