  • Almond Flour??

    Can Almond flour be introduced on the Nut rung or do we wait until Grains?? Thanks!

        yep nut flours are nuts and legume flours like soy are rung 6 the grains are for grain based flours like oats,wheat rye corn and barly.

        remember though you have to stick with the nut limits when you use the flour too and if you have blanced nut flour it has less fiber to subtract.

          You can also make your own using raw almonds and a coffee grinder...one of these days I'm definitely going to try that, because it's hard to find around here and expensive! But it is definitely my favorite "flour" substitute so far.

            If you do grind the nuts yourself, you might want to add a teaspoon of protein powder to the nuts. The powder helps to absorb the nut oil produced by the grinding and will help your nut flour from becoming nut butter (which is equally delicious!)
