    Re: Occasional Carb Meal?

That looks like a great recipe - I shall have a go at making pasta, which i have never done before!

I am intrigued by this statement, Odille. I have always thought we should never have carbs on their own but always with a fat!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      Re: Occasional Carb Meal?

But I don't want to eat carbs any more. I look at a pile of pasta or someone stuffing their face with cake and I think. "That looks disgusting."

A while ago my wife made a steak and kidney pie thinking I could just eat the contents, but the meat was braised in a carb laden gravy. The very smell of it turned my stomach. I didn't eat it, and I used to love it.

What have I just had for lunch?

A grilled pork chop and salad followed by a dessert made from cream cheese, gelatine and pureed berries topped with full fat Greek yoghurt sweetened with a little Splenda and flavoured with vanilla extract.

Why would I want to eat pie?
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
      he said, 'Don't count calories.'

Oh, I'm right there with you, Labarum. A friend of ours ordered pizza when he was here at our apartment and he tried to torment me with it, but the crust just looked inedible to me, like rubber or something. It actually concerns me that I have such an aversion to high-carb foods because I have no clue how I'll get to those high rungs in OWL... I just don't want to eat corn or carrots or any of the high-starch veggies. Ah well. I'll figure something out. Maybe throwing 1/4 cup of corn into soups I make or something.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

That would be one way of testing whether itwas going to affect you in OWL, but I wouldnt worry too much about the foods you dont want to eat

I never ate some foods before Atkins like milk or custard and am not intending to eat them now, even though I am well past the dairy rung!!

I tend to agree with TTdriver...... Going off "once a month" to eat like you "used" to just won't work. You are still telling yourself that once you've lost weight that you will be rewarding yourself with food. Unfortuantly, that is why most people do gain the weight back. It must be a WOL with the ocassional splurge at a birthday party, holiday or event.
