  • Quick question about adding in carbs during the owl phase

I read through all the stickies and wrapped my mind around exactly how the ladder thing works. It sounds simple enough and I've learned that most likely my ACE will be low because it's only been a week and I've already dropped 12 pounds. So....

I just wanted to make sure that I got it right.

Say I am on rung 2. This would mean that I am eating my 20 carbs from induction, the 5 from the vegetable rung, and 5 more from the dairy rung? So I would be having 30 carbs a day?

    Is that right?

yep you add 5 net carbs to where you ate your induction so ifyou were a 20 netter then you go to 25 but if you ate say 14 net carbs daily for your induction then your first OWL addition would be to 19 net.

Ah, well I've been maximizing my carbs since day one. I can't really imagine going lower than 20 as it's so hard to stay at 20.

I've also been looking at the rungs and it says if you want to skip a rung then you should wait the extra time you would normally wait at any other rung before moving on. So say I am pacing myself at 3 weeks per rung and I wanted to skip the nuts and seeds rung (which I am planning to do because nuts and seeds don't agree with my stomach), then I would go 3 weeks on the dairy rung, then an extra 3 weeks on the dairy rung, (do I add in an extra 5 carbs during the second 3 weeks?) and then go into the berry rung.

          Right?
