hello!
just a few quick questions: I have been on induction for almost a month. I know I haven't that much weight to lose and I was about to progress to rung 1, increasing my veggies, but I went for no apparent reason from 144lbs (an 11lb loss!) to 149lbs in a matter of 2/3 days whilst still on induction, so I was loathe to come off of it (I really am having no problems keeping my carbs this low and often have trouble bulking them up to 20 net grams).
Now as you can imagine, the weight GAIN on induction really knocked my esteem and confidence as I was Miss Atkins 2006 to the letter and had really started regularly exercising and thought I was due for a bit of a whooshie down not UP the scale! I began to question why I was doing this diet - and added to that I went down to the seaside with my boyfriend and was surrounded by ice-creams, chips, fudge, chocolate and all sorts all day long - while I suffered a luke warm bottle of tap water. I was close to tears quite a lot, that is how upset I was (women - we always blame ourselves, don't we: even if we know we've done nothing wrong).
Now, after a lot of discipline in staying off the scales for two weeks, I am back down to roughly where I was before the gain (I don't want to jinx it by saying any numbers...) and want to start thinking about heading down these rungs. Is this advisable or should I let my body get used to the program a bit longer first. Also, I don't really eat fresh dairy much (only cheddar/mozzarella and creme fraiche) which I am already eating in controlled amounts - should I move past that rung straight to nuts and seeds?
Also, I am confused by all the differing advice on the stickies - how many weeks each should we do each rung? should I start counting my calories? reducing my fat? what veggies am I increasing first? does this mean I can't have squash or carrots yet?
I have read DANDR and I am sure it was not this confusing when I did it last time. Have the rules changed governing fat and calorie counting (how dull if so)
I don't want to bodge this up but I am going on holiday to Greensboro to stay with my bf's parents in two weeks and they have such beautiful salads and fruit salads and they even get in some sugar-free ice-creams and cheese cakes for me and I don't want to put them to any trouble or inconvenience - I don't really know what i should be resisting for a while?

so it stores as much as it can of the items the muscles will need just incase that danger is still lurking around one of those items is fluid and fluid has weight so poof your weight goes up even if you burned off a bizillion cals. when the body learns this load will be its new normal load it will release that fluid and poof the scales drop dramatically over night.
