Ok, so I got on the scale again and for the past 4 days I've gone from 238 to 240 and back again! I don't know what I'm doing wrong? I have been eating onions and tomatoes mixed in with my guacamole so maybe I should cut those out or the other problem could be my water intake I'm still horrible at drinking water, it's sad but I didn't even have water at all yesterday. I guess I'm just gonna have to force it down.

you need to get the heck off of that scale and STAY OFF. Quickly seeing that your mentallity for weighing is not going to let you weigh daily. I am a daily scale girl. I fluctuate and occasionally drastically. in the long run though, its a downward trend. If you are going to beat yoruself over fluctuations that are likely normal for you, you arent going to make it because you will be a wreck!

And this morning Im at 193. You have GOT to have the ability to roll with the fluctuations to weigh daily. You are going to sabatoge yourself if you dont get out of that mindset that you cant fluctuate. Put the cale on a shelf out of sight starting right NOW. pick ONE day to weigh a week. weigh at the same time on the same day. You gotta get over this.Female, 30

Hi Kim,
What beautiful pictures. You have a wonderful family! My space is a cool thing. Anyway, I've found that my big success has been the water thing. You've got to make yourself drink lots of water every day. I know it's difficult, but I think in the end, you will love the results.
Try to keep it room temperature sometimes too, that makes it easier to drink lots. Just wanted to offer some help.

I've learned that the scale is not really my friend Kim. Rely on your measurements to see if you're losing, and even if you do weigh every day, try not to freak about it. I weigh every day, but only do an official (write it down) weigh once a week. The measurements are much more satisfying!
I've heard that avacado can make you stall, so maybe only have it a couple times a week? Plus, water is a must. I know it's hard to get it all down, but even if you make sure to take a couple sips while you're sitting in the car at a red light, or have a drink after each bite of food, it'll add up and you probably won't even notice how easy it went down.Started June 11, 2006

Thank you guys for the great advice, so from now on I'm going to stay off the scale excpet for once a week and drink a ton of water even if it makes me sick! Thanks for the compliments on my pics too
I did get measured at the gym and it seems I went up and inch in some areas and lost in other, that really made me mad! But it was a different trainer that measured me so that may be it too, I don't know if this is right or not but when they measure me they pull it kind of tight...

That happens with the tape measure too. You will fluctuate. It's going to happen. Either accept it, or only measure/weigh once a week or once a month.
Second, by your own admission you aren't getting enough water. You've GOT to drink the water Kim. 64 ounces at MINIMUM, and it really should be a LOT more than that. It's hard to get into the swing of it, but you are just going to have to FORCE yourself to do it. At walmart, they have water jugs. Mine is 74 oz for $1.97. I fill it every day and drink it before I get home from work. Then I have some more glasses on top if that.
I'm a daily scale watcher myself....whenever my weight goes up, I start pounding down the water and it seems to always do the trick.
Make it your new goal, a more IMPORTANT goal to you than the scale should be that you are getting enough water.~Joy

I think I'm gonna go out and buy that, it might be a little easier... I am also really addicted to caffeine and I didn't think it would be a problem but it really is because all I drink all day is coffee, I swear I make several trips a day to Dunkin' Donuts everyday and I really need to stop because all of this caffeine is affecting my heart. So water it is and I'm gonna start today and fill up a gallon of water and drink the **** out of it

I keep a sports-top bottle by the computer and take a drink every time I am waiting for the page to reload.
I find that almost without noticing I am drinking from it my 500ml bottle has to be refilled fairly frequently !!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Hey Joy! How ya doing! I have that water bottle on my desk. Not a bad couple dollar investment, and Kim, I keep one in the car, at work and at home. Ween yourself off that caffeine...it's so bad for you. You might have some headaches at first, but you can do it, it will be your body's way of saying...hey...you used to give me this coffee...now what's with the water? It's just a chemical thing. It'll pass.
Oh yeah....STAY OFF THE SCALE! Make one day, every week, same time, your weigh day! I think you will be quite pleased with the results!
