I am doing this for close to nine months and I am hungry most days.I know, if your hungry eat. When I eat more than my three meals I gain a little or stall. My meals are everyday breakfast :2 eggs fried in butter with cheese and 2 strips of bacon. Lunch:1 cup salad(romaine lettuce) with creamy ceasar dressing tuna with mayo.Dinner: 1 cup salad(romaine lettuce) with creamy ceasar dressing 1 slice of tomatoe, 4 or 5 florets of caulifower,5 or 6 thin strips of red pepper roasted with oil and whatever the meat is for that night.I am now having cottage cheese at night 1/2 cup x 3 nights for the last week. This hunger problem was there before I added the cottage cheese so I know it's not cravings.100 ozs of water a day and about 16 ozs of pepsi one. I walk on the tread mill everyday for 20- 25 min. Any input???

Did you skip rungs 1 and 2?

Anyhow, if the hunger aspect has always been a problem, you need to start looking at what you have been eating. This includes "legal" foods like veggies (combinations of eggplant and tomatoes set off cravings for me, 2Big reacts badly to celery) and any condiments you have been using.

      Re: Hungry

Trouble, you may be experiencing hunger due to a deficiency - are you taking any supplements? You may not be getting everything your body needs if you don't vary your meals much from what you posted. That your body tries to solve with hunger.

OR.... perhaps you are not in ketosis - if you are very metabolically resistant, very low metabolism, you may need to back into induction a few days to get rid of the appetite.

OR.... your protein is too high. It should comprise ~30% of the total calories you consume; protein in excess of your daily needs gets converted to carbs. If your only walking <1/2 hour a day for exercise, and you eat a pound of meat you'd have too much - the extra carbs would kill the ketosis.

        Re: Hungry

Boonie, I do take One a Day carb smart and a calcium vitamin, and the meat I eat at dinner would be 1 cheeseburger or 1 porkchop or 1 baked chicken breast or 6 slices london broil or 2 talapia fillets. So with the above info and this info would you say my protein is to high? I get what your saying about not varying my meals.I would have to say I was hungry on induction also. I think I lost about 12 lbs on induction so I don't think I am metabolically resistant. Anything else? Thanks

One last thing... you're getting pretty close to the weight you should be at for your age, right? Perhaps you need to step up another rung, and add some complex veggie carbs to breakfast...
